I know that Tiz Wonderful is going the Oaklawn Route. I don't know about the other two.

it's always interesting from now til may. some people back one horse come hell or high water. some bounce from horse to horse after each prep is run. always fun!!

I've got dibs on TIME SQUARED! :D ;)

well,....since you called dibs. i guess he's yours.
i feel comfortable calling dibs on hard spun. started keeping an eye on him when he went in the penna nursery. was hoping he would run well, and he did. but i am willing to share...
onward and (maybe) upward!

Hopefully your wagon doesn't get too crowded....the Rick Porter (remember Rocky?) and Penn Nursery connections cause hysteria amongst racing fans! ;)

i was never too terribly big on rockport harbor. thought he would turn out not liking longer. i'm just really not a big fan of unbridled songs foals.

as for the wagon, the more the merrier!

Me either actually.

If Hard Spun can't get the 10f of the Derby or 12f of the Belmont, you can't blame his pedigree. His dam won a 12f turf stakes at Pimlico and HER dam was a winning half-sister to Preakness and Belmont winner Little Current. It is actually surprising that he has been so speedy at sprint distances; inherits that from dad, undoubtedly. Hope he goes on, like Chief's Crown, another fast Danzig 2yo who had a staying bottom line and excelled at 3 as well.

LOL!!!! Again I agree with you.

I don't think that Rockport Harbor is homely at all unless you are referring to his color. He's much better conformed than most TBs. He has a very attractive head and shoulder on him. His hip isn't perfect but it is better than most horses. He's got a nice rounder type back on him, a good column of bone, and clean legs. His neck is nice other than he could be a little bit clearner in the throatlatch area. I don't like the fact that his front hooves don't match in shape and size though. The one one the near side should look more like the one on the off side. It could be why they had so many problems with him. Overall, he's actually a much more attractive horse in the conformation department than his sire other than those front hooves.

I can't believe they stand him at the same fee as Quiet American.

I couldn't believe the price either. I don't know that much about breeding, but even I know that he probably should have started for less. He was a very useful and popular horse on the track though.

Larry Jones said this evening on ATRAB that there will be no definite decision as to whether Hard Spun will go the Louisiana or Arkansas prep route until next week.
