Wasn't home yesterday to capitalize on the win with a bet and just watched the replay late last nite. Congrats to all involved and let's keep 'em coming!

Danzig 08-30-2010 06:35 PM

was wondering how the filly came out of the race?

MaTH716 08-31-2010 08:32 AM

I know I'm late to the party (away for a couple of days), but congrats to all those involved. Best of luck going forward with AC.

Deb,

Ausable Chasm came out of Sunday's race without a scratch. Ate up everything Sunday night and yesterday. No one has noticed her laying down during the daylight or early morning hours either, so it doesn't appear that she was especially knocked out by the race. Will be over at the track by 11:30 or so, and will add anything that there may be to add.

As far as next target, there are no NY 2yo-F ALW's available in the first Belmont Fall condition book. The only race for her is a 6f overnight stake for NY bred fillies on Thursday 9/24, The Friendly Beauty.

Went to see her yesterday and today. Head in the feed bucket. She looks great. Pictures later.

What a very nice thing to say. You're welcome, and I'm working on posting some more as I type this.

Those minor stakes are often just glorified allowances anyway. This sounds like a great spot.

Beautiful AC

She only likes carrots and only once in a while. Pate,Princess?

I'd prefer to serve myself, thank you. Lessee - red or green apple slices OR baby carrots? I'd prefer the apples peeled - thank you.

philliephan82 08-31-2010 03:48 PM

Great to hear AC doing well after the race! It was a fantastic day at the spa and can't wait for her next start whether I can be there or not!

thanks steve for the update. glad she bounced out ok; look forward to her next!

"AUSABLE CHASM urged to the front, set the pace slightly off the inside, being mildly pressured by HONEYWANTSHERMONEY, increrased the advantage during the run through the furlong grounds under hand encouragement, swerved out noticeable after being struck hard left handed in the vicinity of the sixteenth pole, went back to a truer course with the whip now being tucked away again en route to a decisive winning margin."

She's not "green". This lady just doesn't like being hit.

Kasept 09-03-2010 06:30 AM

AUSABLE CHASM went back to the track Thursday... Was feeling great and wanted to do more than she was allowed.

Kasept 09-09-2010 09:11 AM

Ausable Chasm and Lloydobler have returned to Belmont Park after the joyously fun summer at the Spa.. Lloyd was going to hang in Saratoga another 2 weeks but was added to the van in a last second switch with Jimmy Crocetto's Kittylicious.

Ausable will train towards the September 23 Touching Beauty for NYB 2yo fillies, and Lloyd will be working for a return to the races sometime in November.

Steve - Any idea of workout schedule for AC this week? Glad to have the Dee Tee runners back downstate. Thanks.

Looks like Saturday workout according to Gary this morning..

She is looking at Thursday's NYB stake at Belmont or Saturday's (9/25) Debutante at Presque Isle. Both 6f.

Hoping for the NYB stake at Belmont, since I will be able to make that one. Of course, will support her in whichever Gary thinks is the better spot.

The Debutante at Presque Isle would be interesting, as the purse is 100K (40K more than the Belmont race) and the race is run on an all-weather track. Not knowing how she would run on this, but it might become more important if the the rains come on Thursday as forecast and Belmont is an off-track. I'm getting a headache just thinking about it :zz:

Good luck to Gary in making a decision, and good luck to Ausable Chasm in the training and running!

Pick your track and race ... may the tylenol be with you ...

There was a second winner Wednesday out of Ausable's maidenbreaker as SOCIAL STATEMENT, Larry Goichman's homebred Suave filly out a Nureyev mare, wired an off the turfer going 7f. She received a 65 Beyer.

It's up to Gary based on how she's doing. There's also another NYB overnight sprint stake, the Sweet Patootie, the following week.

She worked very well yesterday, the first time in blinkers, and must have been missed by the clockers. Got 3f in :36.1 and came out fine.

More this afternoon after I talk to G.
