Totally crazy. I just tracked down that payoff. It was "Bonita Sonador" in race 7 on the first day of the contest, Jan 1. An MSW. The winner went off at 58.90-1 in an 8-horse race, and the next highest odds were only 13.50-1. I can only imagine (not having them) what the PP's must look like.

How does someone pick a horse like that in a Winvivor contest?! The person is still alive in the contest two days later. I wonder what odds those next winning picks went off at!

I like your number better. I bet the person that picked the $100 horse simply made a mistake. No one can have that many stones.

So who are you guys going with tomorrow?

Yep, I was knocked out of both contests.

Good luck to the survivors!

I'm still in showvivor, but got booted from winvivor. Had the place horse in the 3rd.

Im in still, that horse in race 1 was a giant trap. 23 opening quarter last time, if needed to run early I thought he would fold.

I wanted to use this race, but did not trust any of them. I have made my Baffert love clear around here, but 5 of these can win, that means 5 can run good, I thought it was way to risky.

The other I wanted to consider was the 1st, but I try to avoid maiden races whenever possible in these contests. I know it's risky, but when BB's have good works like this one, they're ready to run.

I'm the opposite. I think cheap maiden claimers eliminate a lot of variables since half the field cannot outrun a cow.

I think in the 1st race tomorrow...only 2 horses can win

I used Chicago Gal. Did I say only 2 horses could have won the 1st race? I meant 3 :)

Well in any case, my horse finished 2nd so I live for another day

You understand the legacy you will have in winning that thing right?

I mean, you would go down in internet history, man!

jwkniska 01-08-2010 12:28 AM

someone from here needs to win it. Good luck since I was one of the KO'd today. Next time I'll rethink the maiden strategy in it :zz:

Dunbar 01-08-2010 03:27 PM

today could be the last day of Winvivor. 3 of the remaining 7 are already out after the 1st race. The remaining 4 players are divided 3-1 on 2 horses in the 4th race.

If all 7 go out today, they would split the $2500 equally.

neither of those two in the 4th won.

rontheman1964 01-08-2010 06:33 PM

I wondered what would happen if all 7 went out. (I never bother to read the rules unless I get close to the finish - under 200 left.) I thought technically the ones who chose in the 1st race were actually eliminated before those who had chosen in the 4th race. Glad they all share in the prize.

RockHardTen1985 01-08-2010 09:47 PM

Jan 09 3 06 Position A

tomorrow is tough. I'm racking my head trying to figure out an easy race to play.

Just find a willing runner and be done with it.

Using the actual exit race as a tiebreaker would make the contest much more interesting! There would be big incentive to not pick until the later races. You'd have to balance the chance of the horse winning with the chance that others will be picking horses that run before/after you.

I ended up going with Moonskipper in the 1st race and she finished 3rd. I just was hesitant because there was no pace in the race.

Tough one considering the entire field was only separated by a little more than a length.

Nice showing anyways.

Not really , this is when you look at the trainer/rider and not the horses racing. Porp A was the slowest horse in that race. Willing just too slow.

Huh? What are you even saying?

Look at the chart - the field was very bunched.

I didn't look at the race beforehand and wouldn't have had an opinion if I had, but how was he the slowest horse in the race?

Best fig for each horse:

Unusual Smoke: 93
Banner Lodge: 97
Cadillac: 96
Calimonco: 86
Achak: 85
"Porpoise A": 93

2Hot4TV 01-10-2010 02:43 PM

Beyers are so out dated.

Postion A appears to be a need the lead type and with the #2 and #4 most likely were going to be on the lead and if Postion A didn't get a clear lead he didn't have a chance being the slowest finisher on the down hill turf. That's what I saw and didn't play the race. I didn't watch it or realy look at the chart, but I will now that I gave an opinion.

hockey2315 01-10-2010 02:48 PM

You're the one who called him the slowest horse. What, exactly, was your evidence for that?

Bris figs. OH MY GOD. . . If Beyer figs are outdated, which they're not, Bris Figs were never and will never be relevant.
