I am a little unfamiliar with the late Chris Henry. What was the worst thing he did as far as crimes go? Did he ever kill anybody? Any really violent acts? I read that he got caught with pot and a handgun in different circumstances but what beyond that?

Yep a real gem.

On December 15, 2005, Henry was pulled over in northern Kentucky for speeding. During a search, marijuana was found in his shoes. He was also driving without a valid driver's license or valid insurance.[17] He pleaded guilty and served avoided jail sentence.

One month later, on January 30, 2006 he was arrested in Orlando, Florida for multiple gun charges including concealment and aggravated assault with a firearm.[18] He was reported to have been wearing his #15 Bengals jersey at the time of his arrest. He pleaded guilty to this charge and avoided jail time.

On April 29, Henry allowed three underage females to consume alcohol at a hotel in Covington, Kentucky.[19] One of the three, an 18-year-old woman, accused Henry of sexually assaulting her; she later retracted her story and was charged with filing a false police report.[20] On January 25, 2007, Henry pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor violation of a city ordinance commonly referred to as a "keg law." He was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with all but two of those days being suspended.[19]

He was pulled over on Interstate 275 in Ohio on June 3 at 1:18 A.M. by Ohio Highway Patrol trooper Michael Shimko for surmised drunk driving. He voluntarily submitted to a breathalyzer test at 2:06 A.M. at the Milford Police Department and registered a .092 blood-alcohol level, .012 above the level permitted in the state of Ohio.[21]

On October 6, he was suspended by the NFL for two games for violating the league's personal conduct and substance abuse policies. NFL policies forbid Henry from taking part in practices, however, he was allowed to attend any team meetings. Henry missed the Bengals' October 15, 2006 game at Tampa Bay and their October 22, 2006 home game versus Carolina.[22]

On the following April, Henry was suspended for the first eight games of the 2007 NFL season for violations of the NFL's personal conduct policy.[11][16] His suspension on the 10th came with a stern warning that future misconduct may result in the end of his career with the NFL. Henry was given permission by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to begin practicing fully.[23] His suspension was lifted and he played in the November 11, 2007 game versus the Baltimore Ravens, amassing 4 catches for 99 yards.

Henry allegedly assaulted a valet attendant at Newport on the Levee in Newport, Kentucky on November 6, 2007.[24] He was arrested for a second time in Orlando on December 3 for violating his probation he was on from a January 30, 2006 arrest. On February 21, 2008 he was found not guilty.

On March 31, 2008, Henry was alleged to have punched a man named Gregory Meyer, 18, and thrown a beer bottle through the window of his car. Henry claimed it was a case of mistaken identity and also that he thought it was somebody else that owed him money.[25] Henry was waived by the Bengals a day after this arrest and was then forced to serve a house arrest sentence.

Ok I'll lighten up.

Its good that Chris Henry died because it will save innocent white people that he was going to kill in the future and some puppies. Yay I love when 26 year old black kids get killed by falling out of trucks! I wish someone would post a video on youtube!

As far as it being a shame, it is more of a shame fantini33 and Herkhorse didn't bring home the Tampa Bay P4 after bagging a 100 dollar horse in the first leg. I am not happy Chris Henry died I'm apathetic and astonished that there are those that glorify him.

offering condolences and not taking the opportunity to bring up his less than ideal past isn't exactly glorifying him. and if you were truly apathetic you wouldn't even have bothered to visit this thread.

the guy got in trouble for:

pot
driving under the influence
giving alcohol to minors
guns
getting in fights

Is there anyone on this site who has never did any of the above? Never smoked weed? drank a little too much and drove? Gave a beer to a 20 year old? Got into a fight?

He who lives in a glass house should not throw stones.

"Alleged Rape"...

Coach Pants 12-17-2009 11:31 AM

bitches be crazy.

alleged pregnancy is about the same as alleged rape. just depends on how you put the dick down.

Doesnt sound too convincing to me.

Antitrust32 12-17-2009 11:33 AM

By the way, I dont get upset when murders and rapists die. I support the death penalty.

Chris Henry is a lot more of a troubled kid than a "thug". He certainly isnt a rapist or a murderer. He's obviously didnt always make the best choices, but none of us do. He had tremendous talent so all of his mistakes were then everyones business.

He's also leaving behind a fiancee, three kids, parents, some siblings maybe. Tons of friends I'ms sure.

This is a sad situation.

randallscott35 12-17-2009 11:34 AM

FELL OUT OF MOVING VEHICLE HE JUMPED INTO. Whether he had turned into Princess Diana in the last 6 months is besides the point.

Thats why the term "alleged" Nick.. Given his track record was this 100% out of character? Was it even remotely possible that the girl was paid off? You know what they say, "Where there is smoke, there is fire".

His biggest crime is that he plays for the Bungholes.

At least he died terrorizing someone he loves ... and if he wasn't terrorizing her ... Darwin hit paydirt in the endzone on a 9 route.

This reminds me of when some people said that Vick's actions were as bad a killing a person. Not in my book.

While we're on the subject of wastes of talent, what are your thoughts on ringless Randy playing his old hits again en route to wearing out yet another welcome?

I never said Henry was a waste of talent ... you have to actually have talent in order to waste it.

As for "ringless Randy" ... he's played on the current two highest scoring offensive units in NFL history ... repeat NFL History .. and he led both offensive units in TD's.

Is it his fault that the 15-1 Vikings swiss cheese D gave up over 400 total yards to Chris Chandler - Gary Anderson missed his first field goal in almost two years .. a game winning chip shot no less?

Is it is his fault that David Tyree made an impossible circus catch - and Asante Samual dropped a gimmie INT on the final drive for the Giants? - that after Randy caught the game winning TD late in the 4th quarter.

If Tyree doesn't make that catch .... here's the cover of the next issue of every Sports Mag in the land ....

BIG FAT 19-0 + THIS......

Coach Pants 12-17-2009 03:46 PM

IF

The Indomitable DrugS 12-17-2009 04:24 PM

There are a lot of IF's.

For instance .... if Tony Banks didn't royally suck ... he would have been the starting qb of the Super Bowl winning Ravens team instead of the immortal & decrepid Trent Dilfer.

ALSO....
Hes still the best receiver in the NFL, just ask Keyshawn Johnson, he just said it on Monday. He makes every single player on that team better, hes always double or triple teamed and that opens it up for Wes and others.
