Just stop. He's a very good one-dimensional speed horse. That's it. I was rooting for him in the Whitney because I wasn't a Saint Liam fan, but that was then, and this is now. He's seven years old, and everyone now knows that all you have to do to beat him is enter a cheap speed horse.

does not matter.. he is actually better suited for two turns... a lot better chance to relax early rather then get pushed through 22-44

your right i guess his 2 races this year, show hes getting old, that 119 beyer is no good..... going 1 mile... track record.... he is getting old and slow

Yeah, he beat some real monsters in that one. Again, he's very good when he's loose on the lead, and there's no way he'll ever be that in a race of consequence again.

If he is suited for two turns... why has it been... can you tell me the last time he went two turns? Was when he beat St. Liam? I cant remember.

Hell yes he is fast.
So are quarter horses.
I think it would be cruel running him
at two turns. Speed on the front end,
a horse that can cruise for 6f in the middle, and Commentator
is beaten by invertebrates at two turns. It would be sad.

ateamstupid 04-14-2008 11:06 PM

Yes.

Indian Charlie 04-14-2008 11:15 PM

commentator is so much better going two turns it's not even funny, just as long as he doesnt have to go 44. he can go 46 in company and still win.

And the last time he went two turns since he is a two turn specialist?

in my opinion its one of the biggest mysteries in the game...
why has zito not let him go long. ? he could relax, and not get crushed through... 22-44, he may not be a breeders cup classic horse, but hes not a sprinter ... he is 1 mile to 1 1/8

He is the perfect Belmont one turn 7f to 8f miler.
Thats how he is going to win now.

The big mystery here is what you don't get about how easy it would be to beat Commentator around two turns.

your really upsetting me... you continue to say now

the horse just got a 119 beyer off of a layoff, setting a track record....

what is this now **** ? like age is hurting him.

Tell me what he does if someone enters a rabbit. Tell me why it's going to be different than the '05 Woodward.

the 05 woodward is the ultimate excuse race... he could have bounced anyway, even without a rabbit, and there were 2.... and as you already know the chart reads under attack, they destroyed him that day...

Yes they did. And what's stopping anyone from doing the same thing the next time he tries two turns?

Maybe they remember him going longer... ahhh 4 or 5 years back.
Maybe they think he can return to that form.
I would just stick him in races he does best in NOW.

nothing anyone says will convince me he wont have a huge year this year, and that he could be still the best horse in the world.

I think everybody agree's that he has the potential to have a very good year, as long as he is not challenged at the front end (which we also all know will not happen).

letswastemoney 04-14-2008 11:44 PM

i hate beyer figures. they can make any horse look like the next superhorse when they're not.

You claim to want to listen to peoples advice on here and become a better handicapper, and then you post something like this? Doesn't seem like you are taking in what others have to say.

Sure it's fair. Learn to rate. Good horses do it. If anything, it's not fair to the rabbits.

you're not making any sense - first he's the best horse in the galaxy (right in front of his cousin cowboy cal) - and then he's just an old, ny bred, gelding. . . if he's as good as you say he is then why shouldn't trainers find a way to compromise him?
