pick 4

pick4 02-13-2008 06:10 PM

I had Tontine Too singled in the late pick 4. As soon as he was scratched I called Twinspires but nobody there knew if the bet was cancelled or if I would get the PT favorite in race 8. They told me I could call Santa Anita track track or goto their website. I'm wondering if I'm still alive in the pick4 or if the bet was cancelled. Does anyone here know the answer to my question?

Absolutely no reason to bet that horse other than Flores on board. There goes another P4

Was there a breakdown or did they just need the time to mess with the track again?

I guess both... Hilogold broke down.

Wow,since when does Bejarano not get it done on a horse full of run? Garcia got his horse in trouble, too.I don't know why,but there are just so many guys that are inconsistent here. That's one reason horses pay $30-$40 (Other guys don't do their job.)

The horse had good form on the downhill and wants to win, that in it self made me put him in my pic 3 and I have it singled to the horse Alex is riding.

The #5 Millers Turbo looked to have some run down on the rail and just didn't want to hit the gap at the rail.

Yea,Garcia got him in trouble on the turn, and never did get out of it.Bejarano simply blew a ride with a horse with run. They always got another race to ride, and they don't have to put up money to make money. It's no wonder they lay down so easily.

Every time I think I have that hill figured out I get kicked in the teeth. Even the best jocks keep screwing it up.

Garcia made that patented terrible move on the 5 that works only once a meet where he assumes that the leaders will carry wide and that he will be on some magical horse that can corner better than the rest of them and blow by them on the rail. Gryder tried to rate the 10 giving up his post advantage. Don't know what happened to Bejarano except he got caught in all the traffic.

Great ride by Flores I guess. Used his speed to get in good position.

GL on the Pick 3.

SCUDSBROTHER 02-13-2008 06:54 PM

See,Bejarano turns right around to win with Doppio. They don't care, man. If they blow a ride, they try harder in the next race.

Knew my pic 3 was in trouble when the other horses scratched. Tell me that the middle of the stretch isn't the place to be.

All the scratches especially the 5 hurt Street Boss. I don't think he wants to be that close to the pace but with that short field there wasn't much choice.

SCUDSBROTHER 02-13-2008 07:02 PM

That the way you wanted Solis to ride Street Boss?

tiggerv 02-13-2008 07:04 PM

Wow 2 horses pay 3 of 4 on the P4 and if the 7 wins someone takes down the entire P4 pool.

I just don't know how anybody can expect the horse to hold the lead for that long. The horse is trained to get to the front late, and is always pulled up quickly after that. His job is usually done then.He did what is normally his job.Why would the horse not think his job is done by midstretch? Common sense would tell ya the horse thinks his job is complete.

I watched the replay again and agree that he moved way too soon. Never fear, Solis is still on the top of my list of bad So Cal riders.

What's amazing is that Solis has butchered this horse just about every time he's ridden him. Guess the connections are satisfied with the rides, however. Says alot of those in the game.

Oh,Headley will be in the grave(I think) before Solis stops getting his horses. This is the stubborn GEEDUBBYA type. How many people think Solis would have won if these 2 switched horses?

I have passed on races that I liked because Solis had a mount that showed some run. You can't bet him will a large wager. He has been riding scared for the last 3 years.

SCUDSBROTHER 02-13-2008 09:08 PM

You know ,it's a slow pace,k? Fine, but look at Bejarano's horse on the backstretch. That horse is not gunna get to go up and do what Street Boss did.Beja has total control of this horse(even though he too would like to run faster.)So,the pace is a poor excuse.I guarantee you Beja would have had a hunter hunting(no matter what.) When you take a hunter to the front, you are taking their target away.Look at the way he wins all these races. He is usually outside coming late. This way his horse can always see what they have to beat.Solis got scared of being trapped, and so he went to the front too early, and took the target away from a hunter. At this point,Solis needs the best horse to win,and it would be best if it's a field that he can get a set-up in. The horse should be so much the best that he can go very wide in the stretch(Like the last race on Monday.)

Solis always needs the best horse to win or a complete pace meltdown, I never see him anywhere near the lead, and when he is, he never finishes

I have no idea but I was wondering the same thing. What the hell happened in that second to last race, because earlier, it was full.....
