Most of the profits came on 4 or 5 weekends with a lot of small to medium losses in between.

That weekend rocked!

Good one right there. But I buy green and purple pens. Red pens give me a bad vibe.

I'm a winner because my mom tells me so.

Seriously though, I'm up for the year. I hit a few pick 4's and had a great Derby day, a great time at the BC. The only track that put a beating on me was Del Mar.

We had fun though! :)

That was probably my best wagering weekend with both Brushed Prince at 71-1, and Miner's Lamp at like 20-1, getting up for second and the Kong horse owned by Paranack winning at like 18-1.

Hopefully this year I can learn how to better structure my bets though. :(

bellsbendboy 12-20-2006 09:51 AM

BTW: My numbers are pretty accurate, but after some calculations I will move the amount bet for 2006, to $2000. Although the naysayers will line up, ALL my pick 4 bets, with analysis are posted somewhere.

The gray area in the amount bet arises when I have blown the first leg and really like a nice priced horse in a later leg. I went as far back as I could at www.nola.com/forums/startinggate and post # 6974 is a good example.

My pick 4 was blown in leg one, but I loved a horse in a later leg who romped at some $47, with a big triple to boot. That particular page included several other scores. Good cappin. BBB

I'd love to believe you... but i can't.
I also want to believe Elvis is still alive... but i can't.

Yeah, that Woodward saved the meet for me. Without that exacta I'd have been down on the meet. With it I was within like $10 of even at the track and up $60 on the internet for the meet which I was more than happy with. The rest of the year I'd guess I was down $200 - $300 although if you go back to the Malibu last year that would put me back to even. I probably bet in the vicinity of $3,000 - $4,000 on the year and at worst lost $300 which I can live with.

I pushed about $5000 through the windows for a wagering loss of $29. This comes out to negative $300-$400 when I include the expenses of internet wagering accounts and DRF's. I had a lot of fun for something like $30 per month. That's a winning season for me.

Where is your math, it is almost $5 per day (1800/365)

Yes, I am internet anal math guy

Scav 12-20-2006 10:38 AM

Oh, and for the record, it was SMOKE CITY for me this year

come on man really, it's a $5 tank of gas to get to southland and $2.50 for a bucket of warm PBR........ travel is the least of your expenses.

Now, if you stop betting $10 tri wheel's with 90% of the field then you could cut out some "Expenses"

$1 exacta box: All over All

as for me, YOUBET and their plethora of race tracks have given me the business this year.

New year's resolution: More PK 3's 4's 6's, less tri-keys

I only use the all button on greyhounds. :D

brianwspencer 12-20-2006 11:20 AM

I haven't kept as good of records as I did the last few years -- but I'd say that in general I'm probably somewhere between even and down $500. I've had a couple of monsterly bad days, but a couple of great days.

The few that bailed me out?
1. Invasor in the BCC, and Street Sense in the Juvenile
2. Vacare in the QEII
3. Sicdup at Keenelend and on the QEII undercard
4. Sidcup at Turfway just this past weekend (HUGE day/year saver at 12-1!)

Bendaredonedat 12-20-2006 11:30 AM

Im Only Gonna Say It Once!!! Loser

Antitrust32 12-20-2006 11:42 AM

I broke even or ended up a little over. If you include poker... then I won a good amount considering what I bet. 6 tourney's at casino's total and 5 final tables including two 1'st a 3rd, 5th and most recently 7th. Bet maybe 500 and returned about 3,000 so I am up about 2500.

Horses I probably bet around 500 and returned 500-600 in that range.

Not too bad in the gambling department this year!

cal828 12-20-2006 12:10 PM

Probably lose somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 to 1000 dollars annually,
but that's ok. Have no other vices. Don't drink or smoke. Too old to do the
hibbity dibbity. If I didn't bet on horses, somebody would try to make a religion out of me.

I only bet Pick-3's on Thursday's and won about 145K. I also married a super model, had my penis reduced, and scored 2 touchdowns in the Super Bowl. Not a bad year overall.
