Euro

You are getting straight up jacked from TVG by the way. Don't they charge you per wager, like 25 cents per ticket or something. That is borderline thievery

uscrules 12-18-2006 02:09 PM

maybe the lines dixie were betting were teaser lines. anyone who bets sports knows what teaser lines are. they are exaggerated lines with odds attached to them, for instance if you like indy to crush cinnci tonight, instead of taking even money and giving 3.5 points, some places will give like 3/1 if you are willing to give 10 or 11 points.
dont be so eager to say somebody is wrong or lying. maybe you need to learn something before you rush to judgements.

HA! Good one, rook. you don't know the legend of dixie, I guess.

by the way- those adjusted lines you refer to are called PLEASER lines.

He quoted them at 6/5 odds, unless he was teasing them together, which I could see, but straight up, those lines were off a couple points

uscrules 12-18-2006 02:13 PM

not where i come from there not. teaser are what they are called. you "tease" the actual line.

A teaser allows you to move a line 6, 6.5, 7, or 10 points in your favor, and requires that you select 2 (or more) teams to win.
I.E., let's say Buffalo was giving 3 to Miami with an over/under of 37. You could take Buffalo +3 and an Over 31.

A PLEASER allows you to move the line AGAINST you, generating better odds.
I.E. you could move Buffalo to -7 and get 2:1. A similar concept is ACTION POINTS. You get better odds for each point the team you select beats the spread by.

Trust me guy, I've been doing this a long time.

sorry you rook, you are correct.

eh, it's semantics.. "sandalwood, sandalfoot, whatever the f*ck you call it..."
but more about defensing dixie whereas he deserves no defense for his ridiculous football lines claims.

In very rare situations, the 1 hour at $225 can be golden.

uscrules 12-18-2006 02:40 PM

i know of no dixie, i was just saying maybe if the guy is for real, he creates his own spreads, which you know you can do. what is dixie, just another of the many bs 'ers on here ?

To be honest JJP I do not know. I usually will one bet 1 race or so and then call it quits. But for some reason I just kept going and going. I am not sure if TVG charges a per wager fee. I know it used to be 25 cents but I dont know if it is like that now. Pinnacle would have been much better for me this weekend.

Stick to one account, psycho.

Scav 12-18-2006 03:14 PM

Cost yourself $434 if all of that $6200 wagered was on non-NYRA tracks. (4% on NYRA)

So you would have been up a total of $210, and that is not including if you got charged to deposit with TVG, which I think their is a charge, Pinnacle = no charge

I did not get charged a deposit fee which is good. Most of it was wagered on non-NYRA races. I certainly screwed myself that is for sure. Thanks for letting me know how much I cost myself. I usually dont do that, but I was just having the bug.

I tend to agree. You don't owe it to everyone to stop every time you make a wager and tell everyone exactly what you bet on this board.
If you wanna jump up and down and say I told you so and ram it down people's throats without posting a specific play, yeah thats just awful, punishable by death is what it ought be. But a few folks here think they can come on here and tell us exactly how to live and intimidate folks into what they can and cannot post, and they are delusional self important types.
Sharing tough beats or success stories is not redboarding unless you gloat and I told you so and give the story redboarding overtones.
Do these self importnat types honestly think a guy at the track for the afternoon playing a card should bring laptops and keep us up to date on every wager they make?
I like hearing the stories, good and bad, as long as they arent in redboarding mode. I find the folks trying to tell us how and what we can post laughable.

uscrules 12-18-2006 04:20 PM

i am with you guys, who has the time to post on this board all day every day?Certianly nobody on here. tee hee.

It was just a joke. No sense of humor? If you read my post, I said two "redboards", while the other one I was referring was where he posted he did not bet a horse but should have. Lighten up, Francis.

Oracle, I just thought of that 8-1 pletcher filly you gave out back when Saratoga was starting and that thing really made me a bundle.

Thanks again...

Hey good to see you again Mood! Hows life overseas?
And thanks are nice but really you should be thanking my friend the clocker who spots those things.

If euro collected 6-7K in winning bets, as he first posted, then he gave up something like $600-$700 in extra payoffs that he could have had from 5Dimes, assuming the bets were at "major" tracks. So if euro didn't feel bad enough about giving up $420, now he can feel bad about giving up $600+!

Even if euro only collected as much as $4500 in payoffs on his $6200 in bets, he would have done better at 5Dimes.

--Dunbar

caveat: if you want to wait until the last minute to bet, Pinnacle will let you bet later than 5Dimes.
