I wish you all a lot of luck. Hopefully some of you can make it to the tracks where the horse will run. Having in a winner circle photo is the greatest. Although I think most of mine have cost me thousands. LOL!

Be even cooler if you guys bought a filly and she ended up in the breeding shed.
You could breed her and split up the stud fee of a solid stallion a whole bunch of ways and race or sell the offspring.

Since Chuck is going to trian the KY division of Derby Trailers, whos going to take the NY division? As far as Chucks string goes, Ill go in for 500

It sounds like a lovely idea. Would it be possible for you to email the respondants on this thread a business proposal of the partnership as soon as it becomes available? Also, would you be opposed to having a meeting for people who are geographically close?

Mike,
If the partners are looking for NY bred fillies, private purchase, I might be able to help.
This sounds like a good way for many. I wish all the best.

You shouldn't need licenseing. Only people who own 5% or more of the horse need to be licensed in most jurisdictions. That is a bit of cash you can save. You will need to pay to get your stable name, but if the trainer owns 50% then the other 20 of you will own 2.5% each. So save the license money and bet it to win on your horse. You can still run in the stable's name.

there will be updates in the next few days.....as we trust chucks horsemanship and that he has more than a vested intrest he has the sole opinion about spotting the horses..with the amount of people invoved there is not another way to do it..constructive thoughts will allways be listened to of course..

Steve, this sounds like a real blast. Consider me in if this is open to anyone on the board.

Hickory Hill Hoff 12-07-2006 03:58 PM

Sounds like the best way to say; "I own a part of a horse".
With the knowledge from the people on this site and a well known trainer like Chuck, the partnership gets an advantage over small time owners. Can't wait to get more info...sounds like a lot of fun with little expense for the shares.

skippy3481 12-07-2006 04:06 PM

i completely agree sounds like a very enticing propostion.

INTRODUCING "DEE TEE STABLES" RACING PARTNERSHIP: I'm pleased to announce that Derby Trail, at the suggestion of Hooves and in partnership with trainer Chuck Simon (Cannon Shell), is forming a racing partnership. Chuck, who runs his strings at Saratoga, Churchill, Turfway and Fairgrounds, is the perfect guy for all of us to get into a partnership with, given his long history of success.

His choice of racing venues will give Derby Trailers in nearly every part of the country the opportunity to come to the track and be part of the ownership experience; his ability to pick out sale or claiming horses offers us a way into the game at any level depending on the amount of Derby Trailers that get involoved; His record of success and integrity is unquestionable, and he's about as fun a guy to be around as there is in the game...

Details will be forthcoming, but the partnership will be a closed end style deal with shares offered in horses for a one-time, flat rate buy-in per horse, likely $500 per share, to cover the acquisition of the runners. Chuck will handle the training expenses and receive 50% of all purses as compensation for his costs.

This is a terrific way to get into horse ownership, and most importantly, should be a tremendous amount of fun for all of us. We aren't looking to win the Derby, but hope to simply have a great time and bring as many Derby Trailers into the game at a reasonable cost as possible. More information will follow, but we hope to have the initial share offering completed by January 15. There are already 7 DTers that form the foundation of the first partnership...

Look for a thread to be started in the Paddock, or a Room opened, to keep everyone informed about the development of Dee Tee Stables...

(Well.. this is the thread... Please let us know your interest/reaction to getting involved!)

Steve

Count me in. If there is room. KP
