If you ask me it sounds like he asked the connections of the other horses what weight assignments they would consider fair. If Frankel trained Discreet Cat he would have stayed in the barn.

And let me add.....am I the only person on this board that knows anything about this game?????

Hey, I think I know a little. But your take on Frankel was funny. He would be bitchin up a storm. But NO WAY should a 3 year old give weight to Grade I older horses.

You missed my special " late addition " to the post.

And I did it JUST for you!

4 lbs is no big deal at all. I wouldnt even mention it being a factor at all.

Why is he giving pounds to Grade I winners as a 3yr old is beyond me. Regardless of whether you think it will make a difference in the final time, it doesn't make sense to me.

I know....it was your saying it was " respect " that I was disagreeing with....though I guess on second thought respect is probably exactly the right word. Just not the right reason for weighing horses in Handicaps ( which should be eliminated, at least in Grade 1s, if you ask me ).

That is what we are saying. It doesnt make sense as to why--but 4 lbs isnt going to determine the winner or the final time.

Actually this is the first post of your's that I have read so I couldn't have copied you.

The final line was a joke....by the way. I'm guessing Randall, the person I posted to, got it.

THe weight issue wasnt all that big of a deal. I dont think a 3 year old should ever give weight to an older grade I winner. But it wasnt like he was giving 15 lbs.

I think Silver Train ran a Grade 1 winning race today. Unfortunately he faced DIscreet Cat who is a better horse.

BOS and ST ran Grade I races today. They ran very good. But Cat is just better.

I agree. Silver Train took on Discreet Cat in the fastest part of the race and ran probably as well as he ever has. Badge of Silver, who one has to give credit for coming back from the dead many times, was a very lucky second.

Well it seems we're all in agreement then. Before this race I was trying to predict which horse would run well and which would be off, between Silver Train and Badge of Silver, and as it turns out they both answered the call on the big day. Man did Silver train tear it up. For a moment I thought I saw BOS with enough momentum to possible get past Discreet Cat. That moment closed quickly.
That's a race we won't soon forget.

Absolutely. Let's burn all clocks and just call them all winners. That's genius.

After reading that first line I swear i could hear a rim shot.

Now Discrete Cat will be forever overbet at 1-9 type odds. He has to lose at some point.
