I don’t understand why, if the horse is live, Ward would give it to a 55 year old jockey who hasn’t ridden a horse in 18 months. It’s not like there’s a shortage of jockeys at Keeneland right now. Weird...but good call.

I’m sure they go back a long time. I know Pedroza has been working horses in Kentucky, maybe for Ward. Remember Ward was a jockey back in the day also and has been pretty loyal to a guy like Julio Garcia, who he still has ride some of his horses.

Not to mention the price is a lot better if Martin Pedroza is up instead of Irad Ortiz
