She is actually okay but from what I've seen, but I didn't look at her closely in the CD paddock when she broke her maiden earlier this summer....she reaches straight out when she runs so she isn't as hard on herself as many of the Unbridled's Songs - so she has that going for her...

in my opinion

I am still a firm believer in Officer Rocket! Look at his previous wins before the Iriquois. He was displaced in his last race and is back to form......he had an excellent 5/8 work yesterday. His time in the SLOPPY Arlington-Washinton futurity was a hair off Tiz Wonderful's win on a fast track. Just my two SENSE!

Thank you Cannon. Any info would be great. I have liked this horse all year.

I feel like this was reported in DRF while we were still at Saratoga...if not shortly thereafter.

I totally missed it if it was posted. Black--did you see the Stu Unger movie?

lemoncrush 11-15-2006 01:06 PM

My top 5 would be:

Tiz Wonderful
Les Grand Trois
Street Sense
Circular Quay
EZ Warrior

I also second Kasept's honorable mention of CP west. I think he's gonna be a factor next spring for Zito.

The Bid 11-15-2006 01:40 PM

Westwon is better than any listed.

...have been the most impressive to me to this point....tough to say, as I still think many of the better horses of this generation probably have yet to run....certainly, Minefield and Napa Cat and some other allowance types to this point have a lot of talent....I still think some forgotten horses who are hurt like Run Alex Run are very talented too...Great Hunter is the only colt on the West coast that I think is genuine so far...

That's my top four too. I guess that great minds think alike. LOL.

Of course, I would put Scat Daddy in the number 4 spot, and move Nobiz Like Showbiz and Tiz Wonderful up after his performance in the BC Juvy. Still, I think that Scat Daddy is a little bit better animal than he showed in that race. I'm not sure if he is going to love added distance though.

I also still like CP West (not giving up on this guy yet), Day Pass, and a colt named Westwon in addtion to the others that you mentioned. I'm missing some...maybe I willl think of them later.

But my favorite two year old right now is Zada Belle. That filly is going to go on to do GREAT things. I'm a huge fan already. LOVE HER!

I also love a filly named Successful Outlook (Orientate). I think that she is that Asmussen filly that I have mentioned before.

Ah, I see that someone else did mention Westwon. He is a very intriguing chestnut colt with a beautiful blaze. I like his type, and he is improving.

The Bid 11-15-2006 02:02 PM

Yes, hes a monster, look for him come derby time. Big beautiful Gone West

Buffymommy 11-15-2006 02:03 PM

I haven't been looking that closely at the 2 yr olds yet, but from what I have seen, I really like Great Hunter. I am looking forward to seeing if this horse can improve next year.

P.S. I also like Dreaming of Anna. She is going to make Gorella work next year. :)

And does anyone else think Octave looks like another filly that I am known to love... :)

Buffy, I like Great Hunter too... I'm just wondering how much this colt will actually improve. He's been so consistent all season that it makes you wonder if he'll be able to have that jump from this year to next year as a 3 year old. He's definitely paid for himself, that's for sure... I think he was a $30k KEE Sept '05 colt. I like to see ones like him do well. :D

Teuflesberg is another colt that's got great action IMO. I doubt he'll be a legit derby contender, but I think he'll improve next year as a 3 year old. He moves great.

The Bid 11-15-2006 02:27 PM

He will be fine, hes at the end of his wick right now. Real Heavy campaign. He will be out until the real noise starts for the Derby.

brianwspencer 11-15-2006 02:29 PM

Based on performance this year:
1. Street Sense
2. Dreaming of Anna
3. Tiz Wonderful
4. Circular Quay

Based on how I think they will turn out as 3yo
1. Street Sense
2. Dreaming of Anna
3. Officer Rocket
4. CP West.

The Bid 11-15-2006 02:37 PM

You had better just throw Westwon in there to be safe. Hes much better than all youve mentioned with the exception of Street Sense.

I've been watching him, but he hasn't proven anything yet at all -- he may very well end up as good as the others, but not yet and hasn't proven that he will be.

I think Officer Rocket is going to get overlooked much of next year.

zippyneedsawin 11-15-2006 02:49 PM

Anyone who doesn't have Circular Quay on their list (as of now) is kooky! here's my list:

1) Circular Quay
2) Tiz Wonderful
3) Street Sense
4) NoBiz

Day Pass has run twice. After his impressive debut, he came back 4 weeks later and won a $100,000 stakes race very impressively.

Reddam recently turned down $5 million for Notional. I will give you all one guess as to who made the offer. I'll give you a hint. It starts with a "D".
