I'm not sure if it is still true, but at one point not that long ago (maybe a year or two) there was only 1 active jockey with a +career R.O.I.

Can anyone verify this or find out if that has changed?

as i said before

hard to believe but this is fact out of all races run in northamerica
9 out of every 10 races is won by a horse paying 20 dollars or less
91 % over last 25 years

Thanks for doing this. I think before the Saratoga meet I had the preconceived notion that the biggest payoffs and the most big payoffs would come from the turf races and probably the maiden turf races, but that was not so. 27 of the bigger payoffs came from dirt races and 20 from turf. 22 were dirt sprints and 9 were turf sprints. 5 were dirt routes and 11 were turf routes. 11 of the dirt sprints were maidens and none of the dirt routes were. 7 of the turf sprints were maidens 4 of the turf routes were.
