ok is anyone taking in the fact that the keeneland meet just ended as well?

Point given.

yes point given, there was none better:)

I know what would solve Churchill's problem of filling allowance races.

Polytrack

*runs*

Then, we can listen to Oracle and Cunningham bitch about not being able to wager on BC day. It will be worth a thread... or 20!

I just pictured the 2007 Derby on Polytrack and threw up a little in my mouth.

I would love to see the card that Churchill ran on the Friday preceding the BC in 2000. For all I know it was very similar. Maybe someone can dig it up.

their is no ryhme or reason to Friday's card. was up with that?

I never understand you guys... isn't it about finding value within the races?

I guess it's that "Mountaineer bias" coming out in me... Who gives a **** what level the races are, as long as they present balanced wide-open affairs?
That's seriously all I care about. I don't understand how y'all think you can only wager on high-end allowance and Stakes events...

Now, I take back what I just said if those claiming races only have 6 or 7 horses in them... then it's a short, crappy field. If that's the case... I take it back. But my betting style- I do so much better with 5kN2L claimers than Allowance 44kN2X horses... Different strokes for different folks I guess...

Another surprising post by Mr. NYRA himself.....get used to it because the spires will be over BEL, SAR and AQU soon :D

Did you even read what I said? I don't blame Churchill...I was just disappointed the card wasn't more appetizing. They usually seem to put on a great card on a day like that.

I even mentioned that Belmont had a lousy card before the BC last year.

And, to answer your Churchill reference....they took a piece with Empire Racing. Now THAT's embarrassing. Eventually they may have to blame that on Meeker.

I'm just busting your chops, Andy...:D ...and obviously they had to partner due to the worth of the franchise.....seriously, they would probably be what you guys need IMO - and this is coming from a guy who got laid off by CDI  ....they are bottomline driven company and one of the few that has proven that they can make money.....NYRA can't seem to figure it out....

Now that you throw in that tidbit they are obviously brilliant.:D

Not saying Churchill isn't necessarily run well but they couldn't make money under the current rules in NY either.

I agree they had to somehow be involved but I don't think they did their homework well on this one.
