Well where do they think this $11mm is going to come from. Plus it will be appealed and the damages will be musch less.

If you say bad things about a horse on this board, I wonder if the horse could sue you.

That is hilarious, Richie...

With as many times as certain horses have been called "rats" on this board, I can only imagine how much $$ we'd be sued for. :D

Sure they can. Damages would be hay, oats, carrots and apples.
Can't wait to see one sit on the witness stand...
"Raise your hoof and repeat after me..."

I'm on my way to sign up for umpire school...the way I figure it, I can retire early after sueing all the crazy parents who think their kid is the next A-Rod...oops, I mean Jeter...:) :)

If Bock had money, I'm sure any lawyer would go to the higher courts to have the decision reversed on 1st amendment freedom of speech.

If you read the story, it sounds like Scheff's consultants did not work well for the needs of what Bock wanted done. Things did not work out. Bock goes out there and says this did not work well for me, I tried them, they are more talk.....blah.blah.blah. File Suit.

Its called a referral! and Bock was probably telling the truth.

We caught an Embezzler. We did not file charges. We just fired her. Her potential Employer calls us on referral. We tell the truth. She doesn't get the job. What is she going to do? Sue us? Ha!

actually she probably could sue! most former employers will only say whether they would re-hire a former employee.
a very litigious society we live in, when every minor fender bender has the potential to turn into a lottery winning type deal. it's unbelievable. but also what happens when people give obscene awards for damages.

Crown@club 10-11-2006 06:58 PM

I was actually just using it as a point. I should had said. The potential employer asked if she was elgible for rehire. We said no. (Next Question)

It's a default judgement. That's like winning a boxing match against the punching bag. Congratulations.

And it was based on actual libel against someone who was named by more than an internet id. Here's the lesson: Tell the truth. Or don't use names.

"Chromer is a (choose your libel)". Safe legal grounds.

(choose your least favorite racing icon) is a (choose your libel). Probably bad news. Unless you can afford a good lawyer.

lmao,
those were great times.

Im not sure what it was that Jerry actually said, but those losers were going nuts just b/c I hated that damn groom.

the funniest part about the whole thing is that I read where Midway Toad was actually standing stud in Hempstead, TX. thats like 30 minutes from where I grew up and went to school.
i can assure you its not where good thoroughbreds go to stand stud.

Midway Toad sucked as a racehorse and Im sure he is going to suck as a sire.
what a bad racehorse who fooled a lot of ppl b/c of one good run on a sloppy track at Keeneland.
