As sons of Danzig go, Hard Spun had a much more distinguished career on track, is even better looking and well made as War Front, got better mares and wasn't effective. They NEVER know. You may, but the people spending the millions on them as stallions can't be.

Hard Spun was clearly the better runner, but the dam's family of War Front was much stronger.
I thought that entire crop Hard Spun was in was overrated (though I did like Tiz Wonderful), especially as stallion prospects. There was some talk or belief back then that Turkoman was this fabulous sire of broodmares....
But yeah, I think War Front took everyone except for RHT by surprise. |
