Sumitas,
I usually agree with you. Just my two cents...races go forward. If KD thought he saw a hole and went for it, even though it wasn't there, no need to whine about it. He almost got himself and his horse killed.
Bad riding. He needs to ride forward, like all the others...and not think that because he's coming, others are looking back behind to give him something.
They're not looking there.

Hard to comment accurately here without a head on . Even on the pan it looked tight--bad judgement on Kent's part and raceriding from Martinez . BUT, at the sixteenths Kent was desparate to re rally after almost falling and being shuffled out of contention . Ball Four under Martinez definitely drifted out into PT's path . I do not believe the objection was frivilous, but I do believe Desormeaux left his brain elsewhere . I would love to see a head on.

THe sad part about this is I really think alot you believe what you are writing. I am only going to say this once there is NO TRACK in North America let me Repeat that NO Track in North America that would have a head on Shot of were the Questionable foul Occurred.

Face it what happened today happens all the time Sometimes it occurs in the first turn or more often on the far turn. A Jock will think he sees alitte daylight only to have the hole closed. Face it Kent D made a bad Choice he needed to be a little more patient.

Argee, the only way to tell if there was enough room is to see if the horses shoulders were up in the hole and i didn't see that and it cost him the race

almost every racetrack has a rear view camera into the stretch coming off the turn

twp will use no turf course as the excuse for no angle

bad kentucky once again

you don't think a local jock knows where the camera allows him free reign

what is your definition of interference?

ironprospect 09-30-2006 05:57 PM

clipping heals ...sending a rider over the rail

taps recovery was a level with you know who

but lets leave him out of this

My definition is Desormeax created that mess and 100% responsible for getting beat and hopefully he didn't hurt the horse. Jockeys bait each other to come up the rail and then shut it off, he isn't a bug boy he should know better by now

Now that thar is one of the best ideas I've heard in quite a while!
As you know, i'm still working on my patent for the side view mirrors that attach right behind the horses ears..it'll make 'em look like a Mac truck, but who cares? As long as you have a clear view behind you, there really is no need to pay attention to the track that's in front of you.
I'm also thinking a little rear-view mirror like the bicycle guys wear should be attached to the jockey's helmets.
Are there any "venture capitalists" out there?
Shoot!!! Now I know the answer!
Make the jockeys ride backwards. Yup! Just turn the saddles around.
It will make for interesting races, and everyone could watch for Kent coming.

Not a head on but a rear view coming off the turn

and if they had a turf course there would be no question at all about the view

face it Kentucky Racing is crap

from the top to the bottom

drugs

bad cameras that miss action

commision vets under suspension left and right

starter problems

oh back to the old days when Dancer was running on Lasix

Then we could have them run the opposite way as well, NO

ironprospect 09-30-2006 06:41 PM

beginners

I do not post often and may not expess my self as well as I would like to.

But I would expect as the more "Veteran Posters" of this site chime in they will agree will my view

just because the view provided by the cameras do not provide conclusive proof of interference does not mean it was not the truth

it only means that the lack of a camera angle provided at most racetracks in North America that would have shown that closing a hole with a horse up to the saddle of the horse in front would be disqualification grounds but without a defininate camera view. The Stewards had no option but to leave the winner up.

That does not make they're call correct.

timmgirvan 09-30-2006 06:44 PM

I don't usually bet on anything Kent rides...it hurts too much

GPK 09-30-2006 06:47 PM

Two jocks I wouldn't bet with someone else's money:

Kent D. and Mike S.

Round Pen 09-30-2006 06:47 PM

OK Seriously there is not a race track in the Country that there would have been a definitive camera angle to determine if there were indeed been a reason to disqualify.

It is a judgement call when this happens and 99 times out of a hundred a horse trying to Squeeze up the rail on the far turn will not get through.
