The enigmatic, temperamental George Washington has drifted to a backable price given that he is probably the best horse in the race, and I'm playing him at 2.95/1. Backed Proclamation earlier in the week e/w at 9/1. Also backing Araafa to place at evens.

On the other hand Librettist is FAR too short, and I'm laying him.

Why would you suggest that I'm talking down to you? I'm merely given you an update on the latest odds changes on betfair.

There's a case for taking a chance on this ground at 2.9/1...although now, 10 mins before the off, he has been backed in to 7/4.

4 mins before the race and George appears to be behaving himself. However, its during the race when I worry about him!

We got Gorgeous George today, George Washington by far the best, proving himself an exceptional miler, and clearly the best in Europe.
Both the Godolphin horses were well stuffed, Proclamation only just beting Librettist who beat only the pacemaker home. I'll watch the race a few more times and get back to you with my thoughts. Needless to say I'll be waxing lyrical about the winner.

Thanks for the update, ArlJim and yeah... would love to hear your take Hwjb.

Good for George.....

ArlJim78 09-23-2006 10:37 AM

the winner looked awesome, not a bad run by Araafa, but no match for the winner. very nice.

The best in the world. Probably the best miler in a generation.

Where was Oracle this morning? We waited for him until 10:15.
