Over 100,000 troops that have already been removed from Iraq in the past 2 years by this President, with battle troops gone first. That's a good thing, and Obama deserves credit for what he has done.

I agree 47,000 is still significant, obviously, right now they are all scheduled to come home with the exception of 5,000 or less advisors and trainers remaining. We'll have to see if pressure from Iraq to have a significant number of them remain works.

some excerpts from today's arkansas democrat gazette:

the obama adminisration is still willing to keep thousands of american troops in iraq next year if requested, despite a series of deadly attacks on soliders by shiite militiamen, the u.s. ambassador said sunday.

baghdad's shiite-led government has not asked to exten the u.s. troop presence, though it is expected to do so.

june was the deadliest month for american troops in iraq in two years.

the administration is looking at keeping at least 10k troops in iraq.

We have firmly established permanent war moreso than Orwell in 1984. It really doesn't matter which country it is anymore, it just doesn't. What our country does best right now is droning, and again, it doesn't really matter who, just as long as it's someone. Go get'em olbummer!! As long as we have drones no need for social security or medicare or jobs for that matter. Drones and lowering that long term capital gains tax down to 10 percent. That should solve everything.
