Good point about the economy, but the financial plan of all of them tonight was cut corporate taxes to zero. Period. They all would have done no stimulus or TARP whatsoever, and let the auto companies go bankrupt. Then they bashed unions in another question.

They all just gave Michigan to Obama.

The audience looked to be completely asleep until the red meat social fireworks started.

I'm really interested in what the GOP can come up with for a platform this year. I don't know if they'll have a candidate that could match it.

not if michigan unemployment is north of 12%.

you and i will vote for obama pretty much regardless of whom the republicans nominate.

we differ in our evaluations of how tough this election will be. just because i'd vote for obama in a depression doesn't mean the rest of the country will.

outside of the occasional candidate self-destructing, the run up to the primaries is essentially background noise. you won't remember anything that was said here a year from now without looking it up on youtube.

Romney gave more speeches than he did answer the question directed to him. He's become a true politician.

Bachman-no way

Tim P-not impressed

I forgot Santorum-obviously forgettable

Next debate-could we please skip the assine American Idol/ Dancing With The Stars questions??????

does that mean your statement no longer applies:

'I am uncomfortable when threads such as this turn to mocking and reliance on perceptions of beauty to determine someone's worth.'

or would you wish to watch barbara mikulski and madeline albright engage in mud wrestling as well? somehow, i doubt it.

You're not going to get people who had problems in life and were unable to be financially independent interested in the republican/libertarian point of view. It's like trying to train a plecostomus not to suck up all the s.hit on the side and bottom of the fish tank. They like the s.hit. Propping the losers up is not sustainable in the 21st century. Resources are running low and we simply can't afford to take care of the slapd.icks. That reality is frightening to them.

He believes the goverment's main job is to provide national security (I believe the same). He doesnt believe in big goverment or that goverment is the answer for all lifes problems. Plus he wants to get rid of income taxes and create a fair tax... 23% sales tax.

He's likeable... though I guess he could be full of crap like the majority of pol's are and like how Obama was when he was campaigning.

Everything that is wrong with the average American way of thinking.

Heck, his staff abandoned him, when Newt abandoned them and his casual, "Sell Another Book and DVD Tour 2012" publicity tour at Calista's orders to depart for Greece :D

So Newt showed up for the debate, gave a few half-thought, typical Newt answers (I liked private moon colonies the best :tro:).

The only question now is if Newt will officially announce his campaign is over via Facebook, or just fade away.

I didnt get a chance to watch the debate last night, but from what I've read today on CNN.com, Newt, Michelle & Romney "won" the debate.

The "This or That" part was a total waste of time but it would of been funny if they asked Newt...Pearls or Diamonds
