Let me expand for a moment and that is all -

I have a new site and am rolling it off the shelf. Things are taking off. Many, many new members, and many of those are posting on the forum, i.e., chat room (mind you I am not talking about a new site by me but rather this site). Now, this is my angle -

Joe blow come to find this site and starts reading. Suddenly, he comes upon the "pay for picks / info link. So he jumps aboard. Suddenly, he realizes that the person who is posting this info is also a regular on the forum / chat room on this board. Two possibilities exist at this point -

1 - This new customer (reader / poster) of the board discovers success thru the information that is provided by such individual at a certain dollar amount. All is well and no question word of mouth will do nothing but help propel the board to new levels of success as well as the person who is posting the info for sale.

2 - This is the "potential" problem in my professional opinion. The above new customer (member / poster) shells out the "amount" required to receive the above mentioned information by a certain individual and does not receive the expected results. So, this new customer takes his business someplace else in frustration.

It is a potential no win. This is a great site with so much potential and

it does not need someone who has no people skills via the keyboard to turn away customers

but rather a great forum for folks to discuss what they love and brought them here in the first place, Horse Racing. Mike is very brash on the keyboard and if he wishes to pursue his dream of selling his information I for one hope he does it not at Steve's potential expense.

Only your unbiased opinions and don't let my past posts on here and ESPN cloud your response. I don't want Steve to allow this in one way or the other, either a link or a first person endorsement. Just my thoughts. Yours?

my unbiased opinion is you might want to think about the above in bold before you post any more of your supposed thought provoking, convo starting drivel.

oh, and WHY WOULD ANYONE hold all your previous postings against you? lol yeah, only shows your history, your track record.

turning over a new leaf? you've got a hell of a way to show it!!

Curt,
Take a deep breath, relax.
The folks that posted responses to your thread said some insightful stuff.
OK..
Take another deep breath, relax.

Nobody is out to "get you".
You "get yourself".

Don't keep putting yourself in these positions...PLEASE.

You only apologize later, again and again.
They responded cause they are showing you some "careing".
It's up to you to help yourself first, before others can possibly help you.

So, take a deep breath, relax.

AND THINK!!! Before the next time you sit down with your keyboard and start typing.

OK????

If you were really good at making picks, why would you sell them?

Exactly...

dellinger63 06-06-2006 09:18 PM

Eldo,
How many times will you make a last post? Go away already. You remind me of a young version of a painter I know. No one will ask you for all that money you're sitting on, don't worry. Go take care of the babies left at ESPN. A new name and identity? Pathetic

Are you tired of it yet?
It's getting old...fast.

Find a program.

Kasept 06-06-2006 09:24 PM

If I need to make a statement on this topic, I'll say that there is no intention or interest in "selling" handicapping information here.

This is simply an expanded version of the Yahoo! Groups version of Derby Trail with a more expansive and responsive Forum...

I plan to have a "DT Store" to sell really nice apparell and quality racing memorabilia, but any significant income generated here will be derived from advertising.

Steve
