what a shocker he's moderately better as a second year qb. no one could possibly have predicted that. not that this was a team that needed peyton manning to win games.

"hey mark! stop being alex smith or we'll make you hand the ball off a lot more so we can win games that way."

"okay, coach."

problem solved.

that deeply thought out jets qb analysis was genius next to someone on this site actually dissing sam bradford after his first pre-season game though.

Gotta say, he's been excellent as a rookie. I thought he would get smoked playing for a crappy team, and was somewhat overrated in the draft, but he's definitely proved me wrong so far.

The late fumble and Brandon Pettigrew's stone hands also didn't help. Otherwise, Giants fans might be in a panic today about losing to the "lowly" Detroit Lions. It's a moral victory, I know, but this is the best Lions team I've seen since the late 90's in terms of overall talent. Now, if they could just figure out how to close out a game or two, they might be onto something. A 1-5 record does not really accurately describe how they've played, especially considering how brutal the schedule has been (@NYG, MIN, GB, CHI, home versus PHI, STL).

They are much improved and seem to be right in the thick of every ball game. They were about 2-3 plays away from winning that game this past Sunday. And of course let's not forget about the opener which as far as I'm concerned was stolen away from them.
They are slowly building a nucleus and in this league of parity (especially in the horrid NFC), they could be a playoff team a couple years down the road.

outside of sjax, he has almost no talent around him but seems to be making what little there is better.

i just wonder how committed that franchise is to winning games.

Crazy thing is, they can win that horrid division THIS YEAR. But probably only more committed than one team in the entire league.

NOBODY CIRCLES THE WAGONS LIKE THE BUFFA...

eh, nevermind. :(

Hell, as bad as the NFC North has been, they could go on a run and be a playoff team this year. I think they beat MIN, GB, and CHI at home later this season. Oh, and Suh has guaranteed they won't lose another home game, so that's six wins right there!

When do you get your real QB back?

Lions are a talented team...
