If this causes one additional death or beheading, it will be the fault of the perpetrator of that action, as it always is.

neither.

The new testiment is the best of all the fiction books.. because Jesus preached love and kindness. Buddha is also the man.

the old testiment and the Koran are both on par for me. Both sick books.

If (not all of course) Christians would focus on Jesus more, and stop picking and choosing quotes from the Old testiment, while trying to constantly judge others, they would be more bearable.

What is most comical though, is members of one fairy tale religion laughing at another religion for being crazy. And its not like Christianity hasnt had its fair share of violent behavior.

Don't forget the Hindus too. They are peaceful people also.

I can agree along those lines -- if a particular religion supports peace and understanding and doesn't tell anyone to go forth and slay nonbelievers, I am cool with it.

Regarding Christianity -- and where it is different from the Old Testament, as you indicate, is that Christ himself never made a quote that can be interpreted as "go and kill unbelievers" or "the violation of this rule warrants death." Never that I can recall reading anyway. The transgressions of those who have practiced Christianity are a result of NOT having heard the message completely or in context.

The Supreme Being, if anyone believes He is out there, will dwarf any of our primitive religions that we use to get to know Him. None of them has it all correct.

And Jesus said, "Don't blow another dude or you'll burn in hell. LOL."

are you talking about black people??

Jesus' message is a good one. I think he was a great man. I dont believe he had an invisible father.. but he is not the problem with these "church of god" type christians.

The ones making the most noise and judging others all the time are always reaching into the Old testiment. Old testiment advocated a lot of nastiness and murder. Moses and Muhommad arent too different.

A lot of Christians are real good people.. the fanatics making the most noise and getting the most attention are ruining it for the good ones.

I guess its a little bit similar to Muslims and radical Muslims... one is ruining it for the other. Big differences in being that JC is much more peaceful that Muhommad.. and that radical Christians are just annoying and repressing.. where as radical Muslims are much more dangerous and pure killers.

Bottom line: since the moderates are not speaking out and only the radicals have the microphone, "kill the infidels" and all that bull... they are not going to get much tolerance as they themselves give none.

How's this: would the protests get bigger if instead of burning one Quran they burn 10, 100, 1000, or 10,000? When you start out at maximum shrillness and riot-like behavior, it's tough to go up from there.

How does this book burning -- which I am not supporting -- compare to the beheadings of Daniel Pearl, Nick Berg, and several others? Where's our protests and reaction?

They burn our flag all the time over there -- and the Star of David too. They burn our leaders in effigy. They rioted over cartoons published in Denmark. Maybe this pastor in Florida sees it as a little payback.

that is simply untrue. when the moderate muslim in new york was speaking, or trying to, everyone was only talking about folks like the guy you linked to above. thing is, the agenda is that all muslims are evil, so only articles that exhibit that are generally being posted.
as for this line from the article:

'the tolerance and commitment to dialog by Muslims is being displayed overseas by Australian Muslim preacher Feiz Mohammad'.

this guy speaks for all muslims? he's hired by them? i doubt it. he's no more their spokesman than jesse jackson is for all african-americans, or sarah palin
for all republicans.

people with an agenda will find things to support their view, while ignoring everything else that goes against their opinion-it even has a scientific name.

Well, you do this every couple days or so on here. Lets get something straight here. The guy who started this "religion" did it with massive force. He terrorized people into joining. He was a butcher. Now, if you want to believe something said by the followers of a butcher, then, that's you. I'm not gunna believe anything the followers of a butcher have to say. Moral people aren't interested in following the teachings of a butcher. Period. Excuse us for not believing the followers of a damn butcher...Good grief.

hoovesupsideyourhead 09-08-2010 07:28 PM

if this guy wants to burn a book he can..thats his right...all the outside pressure from all the other religons is pretty grand stand to me..it wont make them hate americans any more than they already do.
