I don't know anything about soccer, but couldn't a 9 year old have stopped the US goal that game? Are wins always this rare in soccer? We're under a 50 percent rate for getting winners in games so far.

at least Obama was in the gambling mode (best US beer against best English ale).... tie so nobody won, but at least he picked a side in something and didn't flip-flop!

Yes, it was a disastrous error. I actually could not stop laughing. The British media has been talking non stop about it since the game finished. Some of the headlines in the papers are very funny. Yeah there have been plenty of ties which isnt that unusual. A lot of the teams in their opening games are very aware that a loss would pretty much eliminate them so they do not want to lose. We should see the rate of winners increase as the group stages progress though. |
