I think I've posted before, but at little Ascot Park near Cleveland a horse named Hit Head seemed to be a regular in the "exotic" Daily Doubles (the ONLY exotics in the early 1960's).

The track announcer seemed to savor the opportunity to have a stretch call with a somewhat slurred "and here comessssSSS..Hit Head!"

I looked at "Rock Hard Ten" with nary a 2nd thought about the name until my wife laughed out loud when noticing in my form one day.

However, his name wasn't dirty at all.

His sire was Romeo. He had only one good eye.

I remember a horse in England from the 80's that was called Mary Hinge, until they had to change it. Most people would reverse the M & H :D

I dont remember the only one eye part, but that would explain how they got the Jockey Club to approve the name.
