Yeah, yesterday's was a 6 out of 6 conso, because more than one hit. It's 40% of the daily Pick 6 handle (not the carryover) divided among the winners. It was $1960.40 yesterday...still good for a quarter bet!

So I guess that if it does carry to closing day, it's then treated as a normal Pick-6 (proportional payout depending on the number of correct tickets?)
Here's my other question: Is anything different when it's impossible for there to be one unique ticket? You know, when every betting interest in the last race has at least 2 tickets including it that are still live? |
$403,341

Beulah carryover hits $403K
By John McDulin GROVE CITY, Ohio - The Fortune Six, the Beulah Park exotic that pays its jackpot only when there is a single winner, has reached an all-time high carryover of $403,341 going into Wednesday's card. The 25-cent base bet has drawn a lot of attention as of late, with more than $88,000 and $86,000 bet in the last two days on the wager. Wednesday will provide the last day that the entire jackpot can be hit by only one patron. Beulah Park's management has decided to shelve the wager until Beulah races on its own again, rather than in a seven-and-sever format with River Downs. That will be closing day on May 1, Kentucky Derby Day. "We just didn't feel it would be fair to the people that have been following it to have to bet on another track's races," said Mike Weiss, vice president of Beulah Park. The Fortune Six provided the highest payout for a wager less than a dollar in the United States on Jan. 30, 2007, when it paid out $364,589 for a 25-cent ticket. If the wager is not hit by a single ticket Wednesday, there will be a mandatory payout on closing day. The Fortune Six is basically a pick six that covering races 3 through 8. The full jackpot is paid out only if one person has the winning ticket. If there are multiple winners, 40 percent of the pool is divided among them with 60 percent retained for the jackpot. |

This came up on ATR last night when a caller asked why Beulah was going to table the play until Derby Day (Closing Day). I figured they were getting close to that kooky integrated '6 races at each track' portion of the season with River opening Friday.

It will be interesting to see what it finally pays. I wish they ended it on a Tuesday though, who wants to pay attention to Beulah on Derby day?

$2500 claimers at Beu and the derby, nothin better together in the whole world
|
for that money who cares.
its worth a play |
how much money is worth being thrown at this on the final day?
in the past ive noticed quirky stuff like forced payouts seem to pay good...im not sure how much competition theres gonna be with the derby going on...if you play a $500 BEU ticket that money is gonna be tied up through the derby.... when the card gets announced lets make a thread to try to take this thing down by someone on the board |
