I gotta change mine...I now have to say Surf Cat in the Mervyn Leroy....that burst of speed was flat incredible.

Alright I'll throw my had in the ring...Round Pond outdueling Happy Ticket at Oaklawn this winter sticks in my mind. The way she dug in at the end.

As far as the Pimlico Special, I'm not sure Harlington apparently got hurt again in that race hasn't worked since. But Invasor has shown his merit since, but I wasn't a believer after that one.

I just like the way he fought back and showed heart after being pass. Was pretty much in 2nd the whole race, then 4th when passed at the top of the stretch...then fight all the way back to win the race. I like horses with that kinda heart.

Exactly why I liked Round Pond's race buddy....

He won by what, about 13 lengths and ran a Beyer of about 117 (again these #s are off the top of my head). He was impressive that day.

Clearly the most awesome. I know the track was a speedway, but that was just an incredible display of raw speed over distance.

She said, "My breasts, they will always be open
Baby, you can rest your weary head right on me
And there will always be a space in my parking lot
When you need a little coke and sympathy"

We all need someone we can lean on.

Milk It Mick on the Big Cap undercard, only because I bet him at 12/1 on name only.

City Snitch demolished his field of well bred 2 year olds at the Spa.

Umm.. 'dini in the Dandy?

Cunningham Racing 08-16-2006 10:51 AM

I still think Bernardini's Jim Dandy was as impressive as they come.....never got out of second gear and simply embarrassed a pretty talented group of 3yos, puling away with every stride to the wire while the field was in an all-out drive and he was out for an easy jog...

I think we'll see whether or not it was as "easy of a jog" as you think. Sometimes it looks easy, but it takes more out of a horse than it looks. JMO...

Best performance of the year in my opinion...

I'd have to say Seek Gold in the Stephen Foster.

I agree on a free-running horse with brilliant speed as his or her main weapon - such as Officer when he was winning while never being asked early as a 2yo and some people thought he was the next coming.......Bernardini, however, doesn't fit that profile and that WAS a walk in the park....no doubt in my mind....this horse is a machine

Once again, we shall see. And Joel, you know as well as anyone... NO horse is a machine.

They don't hold up like machines.....we all know that....they are very fragile animals....But, some of the good ones have been able to perform as though they were supernatural, and this colt is one of those horses....he is the next coming..

You know that I am with you on Bernardini. His Jim Dandy really was a huge race.

JAZIL'S BELMONT WAS OFF THE HIZZLE FO SHIZZLE. :D :p

Seriously gorella's race last weekend was pretty impressive. I just love seeing a horse throttle down like that in the stretch. Looked like a tubbed out Nova pulling the wheels in an 1/8 mile run at Ohio Valley raceway on Wed. night open runs.
