I watch that and its not like "he is really good for a 13 year old". I watch it and im thinking that is one of the most talented performers i have ever seen and he is only 13. As he gets older he confirms it here:

I guess I "appreciate" his "talent", but I really have never liked a single song of his...sorry. BUT..Can you imagine if The Jackson 5 had happened now instead of then? It would have been unreal..think Jonas Brothers, that stupid Timberlake abortion, In Sync all rolled into one. Gazillions I tell ya', gazillions...

It wouldn't have been that big of a deal. They were awkward looking on stage except Michael.

One of the main reasons why they were successful is because Barry Gordy took the black out of them so that white people could relate to them and feel comfortable watching them perform.

Take their "talent' and move it up 20 years, polish it, market it and Michael would have carried it.

and i agree with the Barry Gordy thing..different ball game back then

I always thought that his performance (although it was probably lip synced) on the Motown 25th special was his coming out party.

I'm going to wear one white glove every time I play golf in his honor.

My favorite was "Saginaw, Michigan" We were talking about Stonewall Jackson, right?

Yeah it was definitely lip synced. Still a great performance.

I was never a big fan, not my type of music but he was undeniably talented and responsible for the music video and MTV. A troubled man, hope he has found peace (I believe he has)...favorite song??? I guess Thriller for the theatrical effect.

No, most people are scared into buying the Bible. Most don't buy it for pleasure. They buy it to save their own a_ss.

SCUDSBROTHER 07-07-2009 11:54 AM

He has a boy named Blanket? Wonder what the next kid's name was gunna be. Towel?..Car?..Bottle?..Rocket?...

SCUDSBROTHER 07-07-2009 12:47 PM

WOW...Maybe not a great idea to have people singing at 10:30 in the morning. This was like the hardest thing Mariah Carey has ever done(and she had to half sing it, too.)

She's finger painting:

Uh, don't ask me what happened at 1:40-1:42. I don't see why the "call" in "call me" is just not there. Girl was simply trippin'.

He was hopeless as a singer.

I guess he could do that useless moon walk thing of his. I've seen better dancing when I was in high school.

Did he play instruments (besides the flute that is)?

Did he write music? Lyrics?

Of the last three, only lyrics are possible, and his lyrics were as shallow as Death Valley.

That is, if he even wrote them.

He had an awesome voice from like 8-14. Had a 3 octave range, and a great natural voice tone. He was a great little dancer. There's a point (when he was 16-18 ) where he really didn't have much. His voice had changed to a mediocre male version of Diana Ross, and his body was very awkward. If he didn't have incredible creative abilities, then his career would have pretty much faded there(cuz he has never had a great singing voice as an adult.) So, I agree with you about his singing voice(from about '75 on.) His dancing, and writing ability? Have no clue how you can say he didn't have massive ability in those 2 areas. Unless it's a country or rock act, if you want to make money in a concert tour, it's now pretty much a necessity to have complex dancing involved. You grew up in SOCAL. You know the local stations (2,4,5,7,9,11, and 13.) The only one this memorial service isn't on is 13.

To paraphrase a former Scuds quoute:

I think LA folk would pay to see whores battle each other in a wiffle ball game.

I highly doubt I said that about L.A., but I am pretty sure I said it about Chicago folks. Probably when they had the outdoor hockey game.
