A funny draft night happening. Our family was in a hotel suite in Columbus; going "hi tech" by connecting our laptop to the flatscreen; all going well until pick #42; oops; the site freezes. So we frantically attempt to re-connect to MLB.com - can't get back in; so Plan B - my oldest son called his wife in Chicago; her computer/connection was working fine; so she held the phone to the computer as each selection was made as we huddled in our room around the speakerphone. We missed a few selections; but we heard the one we needed to hear!:)

Sorry for length here; but wanted to share . . . and again; we really do appreciate the kind words!

(guess I'll need to get a new logo!)

Ok, so the per capita of hot chicks goes down, but ole boy hits the long ball, and CHICKS DIG THE LONG BALL. Plus, I have met like four girls from Montana, all four have been SOLID B+'s

Hell, the kid is playing professional baseball, and hopefully at a very high level, I look forward to taunting the hell out of him when in AZ against the Cubs, "YO YOUR DAD LOVES HORSIE BOARDS" :) Just playing dude, congrats.

And for sure he is quite aware of his dad's interest in the horsies; as a proud KnS owner; he is always asking me "so how's my sister doing and when does she run next?"

Ron Shandler's Baseball HQ had analysis of the first two rounds Saturday... Here's their plus take on Marc!

Arizona Diamondbacks

64. Marc Krauss, OF, University of Ohio

Krauss is a solidly-built collegiate corner OF who dominated the MAC this spring. Krauss has a quick LH bat, generates good power, solid plate discipline, and uses the entire field. His approach at the plate led to an impressive junior season in which he hit .402/.521/.852 with 13 double, 27 home runs, and an EYE of 1.57 in 209 AB. There are some concerns about how Krauss’ power will translate when he moves to wood bats and he isn’t as good as fellow MAC prospect Nolan Reimold was a few years ago, but he does have some interesting potential.

72. Los Angeles Dodgers

Steve Matz, LHP, HS, (NY) Matz did not get a lot of press coverage this spring but was widely considered to be one of the top high school players on the east coast. He has a nice low-90s fastball that tops out around 93 mph and he compliments it with a nice curve. He is big and projectable and could turn into a nice mid-rotation starter.

A quick update . . . Marc has signed and has already played in 5 games; assigned to Low A South Bend SilverHawks - which is cool for family as it is only a 2 and 1/2 hour drive - sure beats Montana!

Actually Missoula is a pretty nice city. I would have had the chance to see him play as I live in "Pioneer League" country with the Royals team in Idaho Falls!

Any chance he'll get to Missoula this year or is South Bend already above that level?? Not sure where everything stands on the Arizona minor league food chain. Hope everything works out for him.
