right now, more are interested than can start-15....doesn't appear mine that bird has scared anyone away. |
This might be the best betting Preakness in a non-catastrophic injury (rest in peace, Barbaro) kind of way since 2005. If you want to beat the Derby winner, now's your chance.

i wonder if big drama could end up the fave in two weeks?
|
I can't imagine Big Drama would be the favorite. That being said, there are some new shooters that could be legit such as Hull and the erstwhile injured Charitable Man and Big Drama.

The difference between this and 2005 is that Afleet Alex had a couple of legitimate excuses that year and went off the Preakness favorite at somewhere around 7-2. What are the excuses for 2-4 this year coming out of the Derby? The track?

The other Bird, Summer Bird ran a positive race being 3-4 deep for most of the trip, at one point he and MTB were side by side when Bor-rail took the inside route and Rosier went into the 7 path. He would have been my smart bet in the Preakness. Now it's back to the drawing board.

I think Hello Broadway and Imperial Council are both going in the Peter Pan this weekend, but it would be interesting to see one of the two take a shot at the Preakness instead.
|
Anybody else interested in Charitable Man should he run? The horse was pretty good last year, and with a race under his belt, could be prime for a nice race.

I just got word that Fresian Fire will most likely be pointed for the Met Mile rather than coming back for the Preakness. Mr. Fantasy was also just redirected to the Met Mile from the Preakness probable list.
