That is so cool. I was not going to the Belmont till they said they want to run her in the Acorn. Now I have to make the trip.

The prepped us on the rush down the stairs and through hallways across the track..on to the turf course for the winners circle. It was an amazing experience. I also met IWR connections will in the winners circle...crazy/fun people and I felt horrible for them Sat morning. I made the front page of the Lexington Herald-Leader if anyone still has Sat edition.

It was a dream come true for me, and I have nothing to do with the horse other then a family connection. They all went back to Lexington and partied at Sals which one of the "Big" farms rented out for them. I stayed in the ville to prepare for Saturday.

Sounding like I will be making my first trip to Belmont.....

... and you got one of the greatest steaks in the country to top it off. Life is good at the top! :D

actually no.. I stayed in Louisville and did not return to Lexington until Sunday. So missed the Sals party.

that's awesome, how lucky you are to have been a part of that.
still can't get over how dominating she was that day.

Did Calvin happen to mention that he was on a "live horse" the next day????

Rootdog1 05-05-2009 09:21 PM

no, and dont I feel like an idiot for not even using him at all in the derby...I looked at it and hated MTB, so passed on him. A buddy of mine saw him Thursday at dinner and he said he had live mounts both days...he hit the pk3, pk4, and tri. Of course I heard that on Sunday.
