Harvey's remarkable. I had great fun joking with him. I wish I could remember all the funny things he said but I'll always remember him telling the Maven, who I happen to like a lot, that he sounded like a 900 number.

It's funny how many people misinterpreted how he used to tease me. It's hard to imagine anyone having been more generous to me than Harvey has been for many years.

Well if they can bring Greenberg back from the dead I doubt he'll be at Saratoga when the Tigers can use all the help they can't get. Besides today he would make about $25 million a year

The Carousel is both floors. We will be on the first floor.

Is there a restaurant downstairs also??? I only remember the bar.

You can't be for real. It was obvious when Harvey would make a wisecrack towards you that it was all in jest. As I miss Thoughbred Action with Harvey Pack, I'll miss The Siro's Seminars with Harvey Pack. The baton has been passed down and I'm sure you guys will do a great job with the seminars.

blackthroatedwind 04-02-2009 09:30 PM

Thanks. You can't imagine how many people would say they thought Harvey was too hard on me and I would explain that it was all good fun.

It's not as though I never made fun of him.

You're just mad that Fischer isn't on the panel.

Harvey Pack is a legend but he's getting up in years and hopefully him and his wife are in good health. Change is a fact of life. I'm sure the seminars will go on and be very entertaining as well as informative.

No Harvey? How can we keep Andy's head in check?

dylbert 04-02-2009 11:52 PM

Thanks, Harvey!

To Harvey,

May the horse be with YOU! Your knowledge, wit and humor made watching daily handicapping show a don't miss event.

The new format should prove informative and entertaining, too. An excellent team will share these daily duties. Actually, I thought Little Andy was his heir apparent. I will miss banter between Pack and Serling.

Best wishes to Harvey & Mrs. Pack and the new NYRA/DRF crew this coming season.

Grab a pulled pork sandwich on the way in too!!! Standing room only, better get a seat early.

Hope Harvey can come up at least one time to bless the show, and shed a tear.

Congrats

Harvey was the best and him and Andy were a comedy team made in heaven. I will really miss the show as it has been for so many years. I listened to most of the shows on the internet from SC and planned my day around it. I know, I have a sick life.

Anyway, best to you Andy and sure it will be great. Hopefully Harvey will be in the audience one day to rib you from a far.

It's the location where Mary Ryan did her shows for years. There is general seating facing the host's raised dais and some table seating around it. There is a bar behind it. When sitting at the dais you are looking almost straight at the BBQ. It's not a restaurant, just self seating.
It's set up for sound, with mics etc. Biggest issue is that on rainy days it sounds like you are standing in a jet engine.

Andy, I can come over and heckle if you feel lonely without Harvey...

Sad to hear this news , but happy that the seminars will continue in very good hands....

I agree with the voices that have praised NYRA for their attempts to create new interest.

Isn't the next obvious step a feature named in Harvey's honour?
