Axelrod admitted on camera they had talked to Blago about the candiate seat. All over. Then he recanted. Like I said either Rahm is an informer or this will be Nixon times 100.

i'm fairly sure you can look forward to convincing yourself it's nixon x 100.

Listen guys, I'm a republican and I didn't vote for Obama, but give the guy a chance. All this crap, none of which will stick, is just nonsense. Obama is who this country and the rest of the world wanted so give him a chance. Maybe he can help the country and the rest of the worlds view of this country. It is pretty depressing right now so lets move forward and not discredit our new leader.

You guys want this so bad you can't help yourself. To compare Obama's role...which at this point is nothing and will probably be nothing to Nixon and to compare Rahm to Deep Throat is nuts.

I'm surprised Axelrod recanted. Why shouldn't he talk to Blago about the Senate seat. I (Blago) certainly would ask the NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES his opinion...or solicit it, if that is your cup of tea. And it's pretty damn obvious how far he ( Blago) got by the indictment.

I wasn't surprised, Axelrod's not trustworthy. However, if I'm Barack and wasn't consulted about a seat I'm giving up, I'd be totally ticked off. Was very surprised that he said he didn't talk to Blago about it, which I find almost impossible to believe. (should have said he gave Blago a recommendation, that's it... and left it at that).

FOX news Chicago took the feed off. Lawsuit ie Axelrod et al? Recanted, like Clinton recanted 'is'.

But if he didn't, why should he say that? You think he didn't know the sh*t storm that was coming Blago's way? This is something that you totally let your people deal with so, when this goes down, you can say exactly what he is saying now..the truth.

Asked what contact he'd had with the governor's office about his replacement in the Senate, President-elect Obama today said "I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening."

But on November 23, 2008, his senior adviser David Axelrod appeared on Fox News Chicago and said something quite different.

While insisting that the President-elect had not expressed a favorite to replace him, and his inclination was to avoid being a "kingmaker," Axelrod said, "I know he's talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them."

UPDATE #2: Axelrod this evening issued a statement saying. "I was mistaken when I told an interviewer last month that the President-elect has spoken directly to Governor Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy. They did not then or at any time discuss the subject.")

This is a great post. I had the same attitude in 2000 with Bush. We are all Americans. Maybe he isnt the man for the job. I think he is but maybe he isnt. Either way, I hope all of you guys out there bashing him are at the same time praying that you are wrong about him.

Name one president in the last fifty years that hasnt known or associated with someone or some people that the public would deem "less than desirable".

It is a fact that politicians shake many hands. Sometimes those hands arent so clean and if you think bush 1 or 2, clinton, reagan, nixon were any different...i dont know what to tell you.
