Raven's Pass should be the favorite in the race in my opinion

Seems like this statement belongs in the "Worst BC Favorites" thread...

letswastemoney 10-01-2008 07:19 PM

I'm almost certain Curlin or Big Brown will be the favorite. Casual fans who only do this once or twice a year won't bet Raven's Pass.

The biggest X factor will be Casino Drive. I think he's scheduled to go in an allowace race at Santa anita in the next week or so.

the biggest?? come on, the horse has run twice. it's ridiculous the amount of attention this horse gets, for doing nothing other than being dropped by a good mare.

I think you are right and was hoping no one would point this out. I think BB is moving forward, but will not be at a price. My longshot and key was going to be Colonel John. I think he is also moving forward and might surprise with attention on BB Curlin , and Euros. So lets keep it to ourselves and keep those odds up. Good post my friend.

Big Brown and Curlin both deserve the BCC hype. I predict they will finish 1.) Big Brown and 2.) Curlin

I don't see Casino Drive or Colonel John hitting the board.

blackthroatedwind 10-01-2008 09:59 PM

I'll alert the media.

This is a great opportunity to bet against both the big favs. Both tackling a surface they've never raced on. I'll more than happy to take a shot with some others.

totally agree, i wont be using brown or curlin on anything... there are so many factors that tell me neither one wins this race.... so many other options... go between, well armed, tiago, CASINO DRIVE, europeans, i know i am forgetting a few...

how can you make that prediction ? they will be heavy chalk, never running on any type of synthetic.

He will take a ton of money from the Japanese, so if you don't like him you want him in the gate.

Raven's Pass should be the favorite in the race in my opinion. Curlin a close second and Go Between third. Big Brown likely will go off the second choice, but is a toss if you ask me. Horse just never regained his April/May form.

If Raven's Pass is the favorite i'll print this forum and eat it.

Curlin will be favoured, no doubt.

exactly. with the money these two will attract, there will be very nice prices to be had on some really live horses. a great day to try to beat them.

LOL!!

Just guessing, but here's where I think the top 5 betting interests will fall in order:

1. Curlin
2. Big Brown
3. Casino Drive (go Japan!)
4. Well Armed
5. Go Between/Raven's Pass

letswastemoney 10-02-2008 07:20 AM

looks like I'll get a good price on Tiago :)

I meant the biggest X factor as how much money he'll take and how he affects the odds of the top 3 or 4 contenders.
The Peter Pan didn't really turn out to be a key race, but if he freaks and wins for fun in an allowance race at Santa Anita, he could take a lot of money on BC day.

Danzig 10-02-2008 09:01 AM

i don't think he'll draw much attention to be honest with you. he only got press leading up to the belmont because of his siblings, neither of which showed a predilection for synthetics.

Some may disagree but I still think his Peter Pan was one of the best 3yo performances this season.

I was thinking "Worst Posts of All Time" thread.

Cajungator26 10-02-2008 09:14 AM

I'm taking a shot with Go Between. Curlin will be favored ... no way I'm eating total chalk on a questionable surface for him. Colonel John has a home court advantage, but I'm not sure if he's fast enough to win the whole thing.
