Moss basically invisible, yet they still couldn't beat the Pats. Penalties were a bit one sided, that offensive pass interference call was iffy, but they just made too many mistakes.The good new is Super Bowls are not won in week 2.

1 penalty for 5 yards on the Pats. O-Line didn't protect well enough today either. Like you said, it's still early. Hats off to the cheaters this week, but I think we'll only get better from here.

Moss did fine and has never cared about stats.

Cassell missed him for a Touchdown on one play - big deal - the game was in hand.

The Jets messed up doubling Moss virtually every play - he missed practice all week and was playing hurt.

The underneath stuff was open all game and Cassell took care of the wide open high percentage passes I could have made.

The Pats led wire-to-wire and won in hand with nursing the lead throughout. People like you who need to see fantasy football stats to think someone played well - wait until the Patriots fall behind in a game early - than you will see them.

When you have a qb making his first lifetime start - and Moss playing hurt - you don't start firing deep balls and forcing into double coverage when guys are open underneath and you are ahead.

Duante would have tried to force the ball - and would have fumbled away about two of the sacks.

Tarvais Jackson is a much better qb than Culpepper ever was.

Yeah - the same way the Jaguars shut down in Moss in the Playoffs last year when he didn't catch a ball and Brady went 29-for-31 passing. Moss wasn't even playing hurt that day.

Look - I know the one-sided loss must have hurt as a Jet fan - if Moss not having a big fantasy football day is a moral victory - the Jets aren't contenders.

And - you can pretend Moss didn't burn that corner on the play he broke off his route and had an easy td if Cassell didn't badly underthrow him.

Would Brady have made the throw? Yes. Would Cassell have made it 7 times out of 10? Yes. He didn't make it - but the encouraging thing was he saw it. Moss broke off his route on his own.

The Patriots defense is so much better off without Brady - and the silly throw every down playcalling.

Moss would rather have no catches for 0 yards and win comfy than have 10 catches for 200 yards and be in a tight game or lose.

I've watched everyone of his NFL games and his college games - and I watch him on every play to the best the camera angle will allow.

In the past - he gets pissed when the ball is forced to him when he's covered. Or he gets pissed when he breaks off of a route and the qb doesn't notice it and throws it in the vacinity of where his original route was going.

When he is not getting along with his qb - he will shut down to a walk when he thinks he's covered. You'll see him in a half trot with a corner and safety froze. It's his way of telling the qb to not waste anytime looking at him on the play.

There is probably no reciever in the history of football who wants the ball less than Moss does.

Tavaris Jackson or whatever his name is - he might not be very accurate - but he doesn't seem to single handedly lose games with mistakes.

That wasn't an easy catch because the ball was badly underthrown and he had to stop in full stride and come back to the ball while the beat defender was sprinting towards him.

A healthy Moss makes that play every time though.

He didn't participate in all but one day of practise last week. Do you really think they'd keep him out of practise if he was healthy? He hasn't worked with Matt Cassell much at all - and it would have been a perfect time for them to get in sync.

I realize Moss wasn't listed on the injury report - but Bellichek is notoriously dishonest with his injury report anyway. Moss was in discomfort after his TD catch in week 1. And he had 1 pass thrown at him in the 2nd half of the Chiefs game and 3 passes thrown at him against the Jets.

He's had 4 passes thrown at him in the last 6 quarters of football...and Matt Cassell is completing over 70% of his passes.

In Cassell's final start in high school - he was 3-for-11 passing in a losing effort. Let him take advantage of all the big mis matches in coverage underneath - and if the defense wants to change their coverage to take away the easy stuff - they either have to leave Moss one on one or compromise their pass rush.

The Pats are going to have a great year! The schedule is soft and the much needed bye week comes early.

Yeah...I agree, the ball was underthrown, but the ball still got to Moss before the defender did. It hit him right in the numbers...no excuse for failing to catch it....injury or no injury.

We got beat about 62-6 by Bob Sanders team. He was the best high school running back I've ever seen. I was shocked when they had him playing defense instead of rb at Iowa.

The #2 rb on that Sanders team was 1st team all-state the next year and started as a true freshman at Pitt. The wide reciever on that team, Hinkle, was an all Big 10 WR and punt returner at Iowa. There was also a 2-way lineman on that team that started on the O-line for the Penn State team that won the Orange Bowl a few years ago.
