Experience is overrated.

You are an Independent...you have trouble with both parties.

Admit it....you're still fuming he beat the witch.

[quote=Antitrust32]I dont think I could ever vote for a democrat. I may be the only gay person on the planet to say that but I try not to let social issues cloud my political views. My #1 politcal view is keeping taxes as low as possible.. followed closely behind that is my belief that socialized medicine would absolutely RUIN our great country and our medical program over here (I've lived in Ireland and New Zealand.. both countries with socialized medicine and let me be the first to say... it SUCKED)

I got this email today that really scared me, I do not know if it is true or not, but I do know that dumbocraps always raise taxes. Please vote for McCain!

Here's the email:

INTERESTING DATA JUST RECEIVED ON TAXES

Spread the word.....

This is something you should be aware of so you don't get blind-sided.
This is really going to catch a lot of families off guard. It should
make you worry.

Proposed changes in taxes after 2008 General election:

CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN
0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples) McCain does not
propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

OBAMA
28% on profit from ALL home sales

How does this affect you?
If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your
home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you
make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the
elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.

Lori currently under law (signed by William Jefferson Clinton) the first 250,000 in capital gains on your Primary residence is tax free (500k if you are married and file jointly). Do you know if Obama has said that he wants to get rid of this exclusion or does he just want to raise the rate from 15% to 28% on profits over the 250k for singles and 500k for couples? any info would be appreciated

Here's a blog about Obama's capital gains ideas.

She's kinda purdy though...ain't she?

Well wait until the first debate.

On will say to the other:

You go first.

No..you.

Well hey..ah don't cah! This ain't even a contest in this election.

What do you mean by that?

Well......look at me.

Now look at you.

Now look at me.

Now look at you.

Thanks for bringing the real issues to our attention,Antitrust! Socialist changes by Obama would cripple any hope of constructive growth with respect to our economic future....those facts prove that the Dems don't have the answer with this candidate.
As an aside, I agree with Morty for the 2nd time in a week...so all you "Chicken Littles" out there....Jesus is coming!!!!!!

And things are so damn good now after 8 years of dubya'? And, as much as I despise him, I really don't blame him for a lot of the crap we are in now. The banks, mortgage companies, all the stuff going down in Asia currently and the fact that economies are cyclycle are more the reason than anything. I do blame him for running up billions and billions in debt funding his private war and for shoving his right wing supreme court judges on us, but that's a seperate conversation.

seriously though, what is wrong with John Roberts and Sam Alito, Bushs two nominees? I know the media portrayed them as dangerous whackos during the nomination process, but that is what they would have done to anyone Bush nominated.

pgardn 07-22-2008 07:53 PM

Same thing that is wrong with Ginsberg, Stevens, Thomas, and Scalia.

for me anyway.

Rileyoriley 07-22-2008 08:23 PM

I don't care for either of the main candidates. They're both in Congress now and doing a sh*t job. I'm concentrating on the Senate race in Massachusetts. It's time for John Kerry to go home to the ketchup queen. I'm working with the Jeff Beatty campaign.:)

hi_im_god 07-22-2008 08:54 PM

wow. this whole thread is...just wow.

keep working that capital gains angle. it has huge traction with the middle class right now.

i can't believe someone bothered fabricating an email smear. i'd have stuck with obama is a muslim.
