Do we have any other alternative other than Obama and Mccain? I would rather write in Howard Stern than the two we have a choice in. I agree with your comments about both of them and yes i do love NASCAR. Im not 65 so sorry to bust your bubble on my age.

We might see the biggest voter turnout since 1960...

I say we break that.
So at least you have clear choices.

Or you like the GWB v. Gore selection where
barely half of registered voters voted?

hi_im_god 06-05-2008 12:08 AM

i guess i'm one of the few feeling optimistic.

2 great candidates in my opinion. i voted for mccain in 2000 even though the race was over by then. what a different world we'd be living in if he hadn't been rove'd in s. carolina.

funny how people that actually served in a war don't feel the need to prove their manhood staring another.

and a guy who wants to change the dynamic where political opponents are unpatriotic enemies. that's truely horrible.

i don't care which one is elected.

we get an actual adult as president.

but Darren..honestly..would you ever vote for a Dem?
As mentioned above, considering what we have had in the past, these are pretty good choices for both sides, IMO

[quote=DaHoss9698]That seems to be one of the big differences IMO between the Dems and Republicans. I know more than a few Hillary supporters that will not vote for Obama. But a lot of Republicans I know vote blindly for every Republican candidate, no matter who they are, what they stand for. I'm not saying every single Republican is like that, but they do seem to be a more loyal group than the Dems.

I'm not sure I get that, especially those that supported Hilary and now say they will vote for McCain instead. Weren't Obama's and Clinton's platforms generally the same? They are identical in social issues, very close fiscally and I think the things they disagreed about in the campaign were more of a need to have talking points than a real difference in policy. I can understand if you are a conservative and not voting for Obama, but I'm curious why a liberal who supported Hilary won't support Obama?

carter said it would be the worst thing possible if hillary was vp...i tend to agree......

I'm not sure Obama gets elected anyway, but I really don't think he does if Hilary is VP. She is just too polarizing and would motivate the far right who may not support/turn out to vote for McCain at this point

The Bid 06-05-2008 09:20 AM

Hilary was the only chance the Dems had to win.

Barack Hussein Obama has no chance. I saw a political drawing with Barack Hussein Obama as a totem pole. He was the top guy, Jeremiah Wright was the second tier, Louis Farrakhan was the base. Seems about right

of course we don't! this is a democracy isn't it ???? LOL. what a pathetic joke. he we are starting wars for freedom and democracy. and here you get 2 choices dumb and dumber. i didn't say obama and the democrats were any good , its just that they are better than what we got now and its better than some out of touch 70 something year old man. listen to him, hes old and senile . his ideas are old. and here we are falling behind daily, calling ourselves the "greatest" country while the rest of the world quietly laughs at us . for one thing the old people got to go . i love my father God bless him but at 68 years old he and folks like him are the past . we are not keeping up. if it were up to me regular folks would be able to run for office. the whole thing is rigged. so you got to take the "best" of the worst. i could care less if the guy is black, hes got more brains left in his pinky then mccain has total. now mccain wants 10 debates, it will be a laugher. watch how many times he screws up. if people would wake up and give third and fourth parties a chance we could actually change things for the better . of course the parties in power and the media do the best to shut them out. democracy my a$$.

Comparing Obama and Farrakkan in any similar context is laughable Bid..come on...I'm not saying you're racist, but all your comparison's are race driven, it seems. Do you think he has another "secret" agenda he's advancing besides his platforms?

Obama is pretty much 1/2 at all int'l sports books to win it with Mccain at 3/2.

Obama will win. While he has no chance in Appalachia where people still invoke his middle name like it is an insult he is going to win Virginia and bring states like North Carolina and possibly even Georgia into play. If he can win 2 out of Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, and North Carolina then it's all over. I have a really tough time seeing McCain taking four out of five of those states, especially after Hillary's supporters get over their bitterness and realize that Obama's a hell of a lot closer to Hillary on the issues than McCain is.

it would depend on who. a dem like harold ford i could vote for.
guess i'm a strange one, i registered republican when i was 18 (only rep. in the family) and for the most part always voted republican. i've worked for the city and been a union member for 20 yrs. and i can't buy into the union line of voting for the dems.
