Dosage changes are relatively rare and the site managers don't have to update all of the offspring once a horse is re-classified as a chef-de-race. They only need to adjust the sire and the offspring dosages will self-calculate. I'm most disappointed in the lack of customer service from PedigreeQuery, as I have called and E-mailed on this matter and no one will respond. If they are willing to accept my money, they ought to be willing to respond to inquiries as to why their data is incorrect.

I haven't heard this much dosage talk since ol' blocky was around.

It's apparently on Miles to do it. Roguelet doesn't have the authority. I'm beginning to think Miles is like the Wizard in the Wizard of Oz.

Not to act like it's all cool to take someone's money w/o being a little more attentive but every year somebody rants about how little dosage means nowadays in their opinion and that it's lousy to pick your Derby horse based on it but they just have to have the correct number this second? Ugh. AP Indy just switched over for pete's sake. The world won't end if folks have to wait a couple days and I doubt a sale has been aborted with one person chasing the other down the driveway going 'no I promise! AP Indy is a Chef-de-race now! Miles will fix it eventually!' Really? Are we gonna get upset with stud farms for listing a stallion as 16.1 when you know DARN well they're no more than 15.3? I mean some of them just flat out puff it up. I say give Miles a few more days for something that isn't gonna change lives if it's not done right away.

A.P. Indy was reclassified on January 8th, so ample time has passed for this site to make the necessary change. It makes no difference what the information is, it should be correct if the company is charging for it.

It's available to me and I don't pay for the site. Sorry but they're not charging for that and you're not paying for that service if that's the case. Dosage numbers are part of the free package. It's not good business because it makes you question 'what else might be wrong' but it's hardly ripping you off. It's a free/subscriber mix and that's not part of your paid-for package.

The pedigree/dosage information is also part of a subscription package so, yes, they are charging for that.

No...it's...not. Just because they don't take it away when you sign up for that doesn't mean you're now paying for it. Wouldn't you feel like a chump paying for something when other people aren't? Restroom usage in a McDonald's is free but are you suddenly paying for it if you buy a Big Mac Meal? No you're paying for them to fix you food and the food you receive is what you get in return for your money. The restroom is still free. The one paying for the service of providing/cleaning the bathroom is the McDonald's company. Pedigreequery.com is the one picking up the cost of the basic stats service and it's part of what draws people in to pay for other things but you are not paying for dosage numbers.

The dosage is included in the pedigree information provided with a subscription. It makes no difference if it is also free elsewhere when the information provided with the paid subscription is incorrect.

I don't know what else to add to this thrilling discussion other than to say that Merlinsky is 100% correct.
