After barely holding off Golden Doc A at 7f last time, I was told that it was further proof that Indian Blessing couldn't get past a mile. Well, she got past a mile again today, again beating Proud Spell. Yeah, she was getting late again in the lane but as I said last time, what does that matter? She was set to run the conditions of today's race and ran them well.

Who knows how far she will go but if she was in a race with just about any 3yo male not named War Pass or El Gato Malo, at this point, I don't see any that I'd take over her up to 8.5 or maybe even 9f. Her speed is a bigger advantage than it is a disadvantage.

She is really good.

I like her to pull off the Acorn - Prioress - Test Grade 1 Triple.

It could be interesting to see if Baffert runs her in the Mother Goose or the Prioress as they are very close together.

Regardless, she's damn good.

If there is a race that NEEDS to draw Indian Blessing to keep its Grade 1 status, its the Prioress. But then again, it could probably have an Acey-Deucey type win and the committee would still not downgrade it.

I seriously don't want to start this discussion again, but anybody who said she couldn't win beyond a mile after that race must have been a complete idiot....because she had already done it in the BCJF. I think everyone knows that she is a really good filly up to 8.5 (and as you say, perhaps even nine) furlongs. I don't think anybody with an ounce of sense could argue otherwise.
It was only the fact that you said she was one of the top contenders for the Kentucky Derby - when she clearly was not - that provoked the strong response in that now infamous thread.

You can continue to say that she's not and you may or may not be right. What I contended then and still haven't seen disputed yet is the fact that she's proven more to this point at distances of up to 8.5f than any of the other fillies or colts have. What any of the rest of them will do going beyond 8.5f is purely speculation right now. In this case, I go with the bird in the hand instead of the one in the bush. When they go further and they prove that they are better than her is when I'll acknowledge that as fact. And again, if she were mine, I would NOT be looking at the Derby with her because I don't think she wants to go that far and especially not while facing War Pass.
