Then, factor in the incompetence when it comes to camera operation and placement and you begin to see that HDTV quality CRAPPY video is not really of much use to anyone who's using the tape for information purposes.

NYRA is too busy spending money on Country Club memberships..

Sure I watch HRTV and TVG for the races but the quality is really noticable once you watch HD all the time. I'm not saying that people will stop betting but the races surely will be easier to watch and more clear in HD.

HD is awesome for sure.. The BC Cup and most of the big grade 1 preps for the BC(I had to throw that in there) are televised on ESPN and already in HD. Who cares about the 4th at Aqueduct on a Tuesday in Feb being in HD. But it sure would be better then what we have now.

I am tired of listening to the tracks and track ownership whine about expenses. They lobby for racing dates and purchase the venues but always are asking for consesion from the state, local govt. or the customer. When a moniter malfunctions at the track, all they do is unplug it and make the patron find another. About the only sport or entertainment venue that has no concern about the quality of there product. All they do is complain about the cost of doing bussiness and not make the experience better and draw in more customers with a betterproduct.
