The horse actually came with all of his papers. Racing records and all. :) He is the biggest sweetheart. I was just really curious as to his racing background. The 13 year old was too. But yes Danzig is correct. Knowing he layoffs, etc... is a helpful thing.

We did find out that he was gelded at 3 and a half years old. Didn't place in any races as a four year old.

He does like the fillies though. He whinnies at each and every mare they walk by him. Hee hee. They put him in a paddock with the girl's other horse, Freddy. Freddy will turn him gay in a heartbeat.

Buffy,
I just looked at her race record and saw she had her *one* win at Thistledown(I know, boo-yah!), so I emailed the track photographer. (got the email addy from the T-down website) I needed to provide the date and race #. Turns out she *won* only due to a disqualification. I guess by the time the stewards got it figured out it was too late for an actual "Winner's Circle" photo, but he sent me a photo of her from the race, which I actually think is even cooler! Then I watched all her races on Race Replays. It is soooo thrilling to watch the old races. Friends and guests just LOVE it! I had one friend that just couldn't get over it. He kept asking, "that horse in those races???,,,,,that's that brown horse I *just* fed carrots to???? ""Are you positive??? I mean,,,,the horse from those races,,,,,,she's in your pasture RIGHT NOW???żżżż!!!" It was too funny! Tell your friend good luck with her new guy. Hope she has a blast with him. I love my girl and wouldn't hesitiate to get another OTT horse. I'll try to attach her race picture. She's #8.

I'll try to post the picture tomorrow. I must be attachment-impaired right now. (i only had 2 bbers, Officer, I SWEAR!!) Apparently, my file is too big. I'm almost half insulted.....like maybe what "they" really mean is that my @$$ is too big!!!

Hahaha,
Later,
Suzanne

Here is a picture of the girl on "Bubba". They are doing their first horse show this weekend (IF it doesn't get rained out).

He's beautiful! And they fit so well together.

The expression of concentration on her face is priceless! I hope they do very well together this weekend - keep us posted! :)

Thanks Cajun & Lindsey. She did come up with a showname for him. (She didn't like Captain Lindsey)

The show may be rained out. It has been raining heavy here on and off all day. She had a beautiful lesson this afternoon though. I missed it. Her mom filled me in.

We have 9 kids going to the show.

Just an update for you ladies. For a 5 year old throughbred who was going to his first show, Bubba was absolutely AMAZING. He acted like a total professional. He was a little excited, but listened and never acted like anything bothered him. I was totally amazed. His owner even said, if I didn't have his paperwork and matched up his tattoo with the vet, I would swear this horse wasn't 100% throughbred.

She did five flat classes (walk/trot/canter). They only pinned in one class. A sixth in the equitation class out of about 15 riders. The others he picked up the incorrect lead in his bad direction at the canter. The last class she did, she did wonderfully but then the judge made them drop their stirrups and asked for a posting trot. She hadn't tried this on him before and I think she got a little nervous when he got excited and started to speed up at the trot.

Overall she was very happy with him. She didn't really work on getting him framed up at all and was just there to give him the experience. She handled everything well and the smile on her face when she got the sixth place ribbon was priceless.

Bubba is off to a wonderful new life as a show horse!!!
