I don't. I'm going with Papi, Flashy, and Diamond stripes

Coach Pants 07-28-2007 04:52 PM

Just got a sick feeling watching that. It's another dark day for racing.

CoronadosQuest 07-28-2007 04:59 PM

That was an amazing race! Ron just blew away the competition and broke the track record by a whole second. I am sooo happy! YAY RON!

Indian Charlie 07-28-2007 05:01 PM

i'm going to play a p4 of my typhoon/ginger punch and ermine/diabolical/lawyer ron and fairbanks.

Did PG1985 give you that one?:D

So Lawyer Ron is now the fastest horse to ever run 9f at Saratoga.......by far?

I'm glad that Lawyer Ron won though. I was ok with him or Magna Graduate or Brass Hat winning. A race like the Whitney should be won by a legitimate stakes level horse. I'm trilled to death that Flashy Bull and Papi Chullo did nothing. It was funny watching people get all excited about them beating allowance horses and talking about how they had turned some imaginary corners.

Coach Pants 07-28-2007 05:09 PM

Congratulations to those who won money...but that race was about as realistic as professional wrestling.

yeah so even though you can't pick them, by all means have a laugh at others
when they fail. you picked 50% of the field in the Vanderbilt and in the Go For Wand and couldn't pick the winner in either. great job!

King Glorious 07-28-2007 05:25 PM

I'm a horrible handicapper. Everyone knows this already. And yes, I'm very thrilled when overrated horses do nothing. And umm, there is a difference between picking a winner and who u bet. But u already know that. I picked Magna Graduate to win the Whitney but bet Fairbanks and Brass Hat to win. Go figure.

So a horse sets a new track record at Saratoga by two ticks, and all you have to say is smart ass comments. You need to find something else to do with your time because all I ever read from you on here is negativity.

I kinda felt the same way. It looked like the best horse won it and I'm glad that Lawyer Ron has been a legit horse for a long time so it wasn't a fluke winner or anything like that. But for me, when they showed that final time, it made the race lose a little bit for me. I don't know why but I just was turned off seeing LR not only break the track record but obliterate it.

yeah, lawyer ron has had his moments...when he's on, he's pretty good. but i was absolutely stunned that he broke the record--altho after seeing diabolicals time, i guess it's not quite so hard to believe.

i guess i just never in a million years would think lawyer ron would suddenly be the leader of the older horses. guess that shows what kind of older division we have.

only salt in the wound called the retirement of bernardini.

I did today. Do you go a day without reminding someone you aren't white?
