This is completely off topic, but...

GEAUX SAINTS!!!

Good Luck Fabulous Strike!

I know he has a lot of fans on the board.

He should beat this field, although a few of these could step up. Frankel's Anddan could be dangerous.

I can't see Fabulous Strike winning. He's probably going to run as good as he did in the Stephens, the only time he ran vs real horses. Can't wait to bet against him if he's less than 2-1.

If he runs as well ( you know I can't resist ) as he did in the Woody Stephens, at 7F, then he is long gone in this race.

I wouldn't be too excited to jump on him as an odds-on gamble just based on the competition factor, but the fact remains that on just about every numerical scale meant to measure speed of thoroughbred races (Beyer, TG, etc) this horse simply towers above every other horse in the field based on recent form.

I'd have to dig in more based on class/pace etc, but his raw numbers are just way too good for this group.

Mayhaps yes. Mayhaps not. I just don't see this going slower than sub :22 and sub :45, with him more likely to be 3 wide than 2 wide on the turn. He hasn't seen the latter and missed the one time he saw the former at Philly. Maybe he's as good as his figures; at a short number I'll say no. Should be a good race.

Bobby Fischer 06-01-2007 05:36 PM

I have also been waiting for Strike to draw into a big race, to bet against him, but this field isn't that strong IMO. FS will give you a good 6 furlongs and his style can throw other early speed horses out of their game. This is about a Grade 3 level race, unless some others step up. The field is only 7 deep, its hard to get Strike out of the exacta even if he doesn't run well.

I am rooting for FS to win in visually impressive style this time.

Well it is a Grade 3 race...

There were some smoke and mirrors trip wise in those three WVA wins---all soft trips, against moderate company----however, his figures are stone cold legit.

He figures to get his trip here---so we should find out if he's just a freak at MNR and only a good horse elsewhere...or if he improved and developed since his loss as the 2/5 favorite to Diabolical four starts back.

We'll see. He's got about a 1 in 5 chance of NOT being 3 wide on the turn. If Off Duty breaks decent or better, he could be 4 wide. He's going to have a hard time passing two graded winners and holding off another graded winner off the trip he's likely to get.

Missed Churchill Downs track record for six furlongs by just 0.05 seconds.......

XIIPointStables 06-02-2007 06:09 PM

Impressive indeed!

cmorioles 06-02-2007 06:09 PM

It is pretty rare I would call a horse an overlay at 4 to 5, but this is one of those times.

How soon do you think it will be until we see a horse with such gigantic figures, earned multiple times, go off at that price?

Sure seemed to me like if he wanted it, it would have been no problem.

That Ramon's style to win by just enough and to save some energy for the next race. Hard to believe one of the top sprinters in the country is stabled at Penn National.
