More likely he won't do her.

I hear an umistakable whistling sound.

It's getting closer.

And, if my memory serves me correctly, Kobe wasn't convicted of any crime and the woman's story was well...! What happened to the Duke Lacross players should serve to remind folks that justice should never be based on speed, and first appearances. Kobe and the Duke boys were guilty of bad judgement, in Kobe's case, he cheated on his wife...a private matter which they appear to have resolved, certainly none of our business!

Kobe demanded the Shaq trade in other ways beyond coming right out and saying it. By making it clear that he wouldn't resign as long as Shaq was here, that's basically the same thing. The question about why didn't they just acquire more talent to replace him is not simple. First, when the Lakers got Grant and Odom, their contracts, along with Kobe's, left them well over the salary cap. Then when they traded Butler for Brown, that didn't help things either. And the notion that lots of players would love to play in LA is WRONG. It's a perception that was true when Magic Johnson was here. Magic was loved throughout the league and was an unselfish player. It was furthered when Shaq was here. Again, a well loved player. When Karl Malone and Gary Payton and Rick Fox left money on the table to play with the Lakers, it was because of Shaq. They all said so. They all wanted to play with Shaq and have a chance to win a title. Especially in the cases of Malone and Payton, it was established guys that had won all the individual awards and made plenty of money already and wanted to play for a title. But once Shaq was gone, that lure was gone too. Why would any young players that are trying to make their mark in the league want to take less money to come and play for the Lakers and have to deal with a selfish and arrogant guy like Kobe? Especially after seeing how he had thrown Shaq under the bus in Colorado? The lure of LA in the past had as much to do with Magic and Shaq, even more actually, than the city itself.

Seriously, I admit I don't know everything about basketball, but from the things I hear (since I do have a hubby who makes me watch ESPN) I just gather that he isn't someone worth liking. Yes, he can play basketball, but that doesn't mean he is a good person.

Whats not to like about a guy who was charged with sodomy and rape

Yes.

I really said that.

I think we have enough evidence now

I dont think he did it, I just like to say he was charged with "sodomy and rape" These guys always find a way to put themselves in bad spots. At least Mike Vick didnt know dog fighting was happening

I was driving yesterday and heard this live on the air! Kobe explained what he heard...that an insider had spread the rumor that he'd run Shaq off..and he said that he could be with rumors from the outside world, but when the lies started coming from the organization he grew up with and trusted, then he had to come out and speak up. THAT was yesterday...then today he says he's thru with them! I'm not really a Kobe fan..but apparently the Lakers are a mess!

No answer for me?

Vick is a total scumbag and should be suspended the entire season and have his contract voided

It should be interesting how Roger Goodell will rule on Vick situation. I think it is a lot worse than the Chris Henry and "Pacman" Jones problems

I won't call Vick names but his behavior recently has created problems for himself as well as the Falcon organization and he just doesn't appear to "get it". IF, he's convicted of dog fighting...well, i've already said what I thought (lifetime ban) but right now...all he's guilty of is bad judgement in several different cases. As a feminist, I hate when things like the Duke situation come up because it makes it that much more difficult for women who really are abused to get justice, I always had problems with the Kobe case as well...we will never probably know what really happened but it isn't fair to judge Kobe based on unproven accusations any more than it's fair to judge the woman who may or may not have been raped.

Really?

just listened to kobe talking to dan patrick on the way home, and then reggier miller talking about the same thing.

at the very beginning of the interview, kobe said absolutely he wanted out--and they say women are emotional:rolleyes: ...he is talking from a good amount of pain i'd imagine, he feels betrayed at the very least. said he talked to phil twice--and the kobe at the end of the interview didn't sound at all like the kobe from the beginning.

i sense no trade.

miller said no way the lakers trade him, they'd be crazy to do it. i agree.

and this has nothing whatsoever to do with liking anyone. it's a basketball team, and kobe is the best player playing. the lakers are trying to rebuild, who better to build around?

when dan asked him what would he do if they don't trade, he said he'd play. certainly a refreshing change from some REAL prima donnas, who threaten to sit if they don't get their trade.

kobe wants to finish out as a laker. he admitted he had no team that he wanted to go to. says he knows who the 'insider' is....
reggie said (and i agree) that this insider BS is just that (that isn't an exact quote)..said that if someone wants something out there, they should have the cajones to give out their identity. he's right.

Zero chance that Kobe gets traded. Of course the Knicks should be calling.....but they wont.
