i agree with BTW that he shouldn't be held up to a higher standard---but i have to admit, the thought of him in a bessie costume, with the teats sticking out....well, that's pretty dammed funny.
but i don't see it happening, because i don't see cowtown winning. or even hitting the board.

I don't mind being held to a higher standard....it's actually a compliment.

The dunce cap is a gimmick for fun and if used too much it loses its appeal. If you constantly mock yourself you look foolish. But, if you constantly take yourself too seriously, or this game too seriously, you damage your credibility. It's about balance.

It isn't holding you to a higher standard, it is taking advantage of someone willing to take a stance and laugh about it like you did. I agree that constant mockery does make a person turn into a joke. You are a normal joe to me, to everyone and if it was a different way I wouldn't like you.

Shuman would run this horse with 3 legs so it can hardly be a surprise he's going. And like every Derby horse, he'll take money.

AeWingnut 04-30-2007 08:44 PM

I believe they are looking to cash in. "Derby horse for sale, Get your Derby horse here. Your wife can wear a silly hat and hon knob with the other silly knobs"

the want to cash in like Curlin's previous owners did.

Shuman would probably run it with 4 legs, then saw one off later if need be
