Mr. Foxworthy announces Catman Running is a ZODIAC CIPHER.

Looking at this race I think we are going to get a price. Catman Running has a great pattern and could get a great trip.

I watched all of Hawthorne races from today. Some things to take from it if you don't play Hawthorne that much are...

1) Their was a serious tail wind on the backstretch, up to 40 miles per hour at some points

2) If you weren't within two lengths of the lead, you had no shot, same will be tomorrow unless they do something drastic.

3) Stay away from Shane Laviolette, he is as worthless as they come

4) RAIL RAIL RAIL

Thanks for these tips, never play the track. :)

for sure though, watch tomorrow. the inside/speed bias at Hawthorne is really hot and cold. Somedays you cannot lose if you lead at first call, and then the next day it plays fair. Tomorrow's race will come down to some element of form and class, but there is always a very serious element of bias at Hawthorne. So, if you're going to play it, see how it is playing TOMORROW -- because the inside bias can disappear from one day to the next....and be back the following day. I rarely play the early races at the Hawthorne meet once it gets cold, because you've got to get a feel of how the track is playing. Tends to lean towards the colder it is, the better speed holds.

Their has been an inside bias in the winter since 1992, Sportsman's was even worse then this crap. Bias isn't going anywhere Brian, the cook the track on Illinois Derby day, and then throw the fact that it is f'n cold out, you have speed and rail all day tomorrow

Well you make that statement, which covers you if there is an inside bias tomorrow, which there likely will be.

But if you follow every day of the Hawthorne meet, you will find unequivocally that not every single day has an inside/speed bias.

To state that there has been a winter/inside bias at Hawthorne forever is of course, factual. To think that it never disappears from day to day is completely off the mark. There are days in the winter where it plays fair, and anyone who watches the meet throughout would know that.

So while you're likely right that inside and speed horses will reign tomorrow, to say it is a certainty as if Hawthorne does not have its share of fair days is misleading to others here who may not follow the meet regularly.

That's why it's absolutely imperative to watch the day's races prior to the Illinois Derby before wagering.

After looking at the TG sheets it is amazing how slow Cobalt Blus has been running. He does have a pattern which indicates he may run a big race today, but he is much slower than the real Derby contenders

Kind of reminded me of a Yankee walk off bottom of the ninth. :)
