If you have two uncoupled horses by the same trainer, one of them is ready to win or at least run its A game. This is especialy true for small to medium barns.

A decent race at 1 mile (one turn) after contending throughout and now cutting back to 6 1/2 or 7 furlongs.

1'st time starter in MCL with halfway decent pedigree and above avg. debut trainer in a field of proven losers. Hopefully droppers take the money.
Horse with good dirt figures in an "off the turf" that wasn't MTO, especially if it would have been turf debut. If the distance changes, better yet!
New gelding that is only listed in scratches and changes, not the form. They usually hit the board.
Route to 7f.
