Actually what I've been reading is Nafzger's been trying to keep Street Sense from getting too tight. The word was that they feared him being so close to peaking after the Breeders' Cup that they've been on eggshells the last couple months. If he was at 100% from now til the Derby he'd have to be something extraordinary to keep it up without getting hurt.

nafzger had a real good one before. his best races were the biggest races - the fla derby, ky derby. and bc classic. he didnt win the preps. this is a prep. what was his name?

oh rob, thanks for posting that.

amazing when you look at his preps -- he ran four times in the two months culminating with the derby. unheard of!

I'm stealing this from another post, but this is what Nafzger said:

Street Sense
“At the moment the timing is good for the Tampa Bay Derby. That gives us almost four weeks to adjust if necessary. Right now I'm not as interested in where he finishes in his first start back as how he finishes. Although when we get to the Blue Grass [GI, Keeneland, Apr. 14], he's got to be there even if he doesn't win.” ” trainer Carl Nafzger told Daily Racing Form.

Personally, I think Street Sense will be the favorite... by way more than he should.

Not a betting race for me. Don't see any reason why Street Sense won't romp here. Any Given Saturday's last out wasn't that great. A talented horse could come back and beat that.

10% bonus @ BRISBET

If you truly believe it's a 2-horse race with the 10% BRIS bonus you might be able to profit from a dutch of the two favs. If you can time the calculations right.....
