OKC opens at 3, up to 6.5 and 7 at some places.

Amazingly, down 95-90 with 3:45 to go, they covered without an OT.

Durant was once again otherworldly tonight.

When Kendrick Perkins hit's that kind of shot late in the game, that's a killer.

Durant is playing amazing right now. They will be tough with a healthy Westbrook.

That is actually a shot he never took before a few weeks ago, but he must have been practicing it because he has taken five or six in that time and made 3 of them.

JJP 01-22-2014 08:21 AM

Tough loss for anybody who bet Portland. Blazers were getting 6 from the Thunder, and led 95-90 with 3:45 to play. Thunder closes out the game with a 15-2 run, capped by a pair of Durant 3 pointers in the final 45 seconds.

Brooklyn 8-1 in 2014 now w/the only loss being a SEGABABA after going to 2OT w/Miami. Ball moving so much better without Lopez.

Joe Johnson has really been playing great for the Nets the last few weeks

He's been lights out, shooting with a ton of confidence but making the right passes too. Blatche also is playing really well. Lopez is a good player but he's a ball-stopper on offense and you can't have that on a team with this many scorers.

Helluva win tonight for OKC...Jackson played one hell of a game in the national spotlight.

Bigger loss for the Spurs was Kawhi Leonard suffering a fractured hand. The West becomes even more wide open now.

NTamm1215 01-23-2014 08:11 AM

I think the Thunder has made it clear in the last week that, at the moment, they are the class of the West.

RockHardTen1985 01-23-2014 09:44 AM

Leonard injury is bad news for the Spurs.

Yeah they've been hit pretty hard, also lost Splitter and Green recently. It's been a rough year for injuries. Thunder lose Westbrook, Grizzlies Gasol, Clippers lose Paul, Suns Bledsoe and the Lakers Kobe for an extended period of time. The Hawks lost Horford, Nets Lopez and the Bulls Rose for the season. I'm sure there are a bunch of others too.

Like I said. Best regular season player ever. Look best best best case for him is this....
Lakers tank. Get a 1-4 pick. They sign Melo and Kobe is fully healthy. Then they get something legit for Gasol. That team would at least be competitive. Melo is a gunner, he proved it on 35 shots tonight. He might put up 50 sometime again soon. Who else is going to shoot for them Chuck? The Stallion is out, Amare is out. Who is supposed to shoot?

Hold on you say he is a gunner then you say who else is supposed to shoot because all these other guys are out? Which is it?

He isnt going to the Lakers. That is a pipe dream. Kobe is never going to be Kobe again. Gasol is a free agent so they probably wont be getting anything for him and will probably resign him.

I can recall at least four wide open shots that Felton and Smith missed off of Anthony passes out of the double when Charlotte finally started doubling him after he already had 43.

This injury means nothing. It's not season ending so he'll miss a few weeks and then be back. At worst, it may cost them a spot or two in the standings but if there is any team in the league that home court matters to less than SA, I haven't seen them.

RockHardTen1985 01-27-2014 12:05 AM

No one wants Carmelo.

http://espn.go.com/espn/fp/flashPoll...pollId=4160903

I mean look at NY w/ over 5500 votes. THe guy won a NAtional Championship in the state, he just scored 62 points last week. You would think NY would be an overwhelming yes. 53% 47% yes.
Pathetic.

I can remember just a short time ago when polls like this reported that people didn't want their team to get Lebron because he wasnt a "winner".

RockHardTen1985 01-27-2014 04:59 AM

I dont remember those days.
Anyway, nice Golden St win last night.
Really disapointed with what they are getting from Barnes. I thought he would be a break out type guy this year. Instead he is not doing much. I understand he was hurt, but come on. 9 ppg on 40%. Harrison should be at least 18 and 7 every single night. Thats at the least, he has that kinda talent.

There is only 1 ball.

I have to admit I didnt see Anthony Davis being this good, this soon.

John Calipari might be the worst coach in America.

He doesn't start, 18 and 7 would be pretty tough. I know he torched the Thunder the first game in OKC this year in place of an injured Iggy (25+ maybe), but he was invisible in the second game.

And amazingly enough Philly under. They may not win 12 games. I believe they are the worst NBA team I can remember. With their current roster they wouldn't even be the favs to win the NBA summer league title.

mid season report

Houston needs to go 26-10 to be over
GS needs to go 25-11 to be over
Memphis needs to 29-9 to be over
Denver needs to go 25-14 to be over
Atlanta needs to go 17-22 to be over
Portland needs to go 7-30 to be over
Philadelphia needs to go 4-34 to be over

PHL is a loss
POR is a win
ATL should be a win
MEM should be a loss.
DEN should be a win
HOU and GS are still in play though I like my chances at this point.

53-47 (or close)? Wow, I'll have a look. I didn't read the sports section here back then very often. But I thought you meant bigger, more widespread polls.

I wouldn't be too confident on Denver if it were me. They are over 500 barely, but streaky. You are confident they can play 640 ball down the stretch? I would personally be thinking loss on that one with some hope of a turn around.

Yeah I have them under and with so many teams in the West jockeying for position right to the end of the season I dont see Denver winning 25 more. Philly really surprised me but I suppose the East is so bad that I should have seen it coming. Brown has done a nice job though. Memphis didnt get off to a good start but then has been killed by injuries.

I still think letting Hollins go was a huge mistake for the Grizzlies. Hollins > metrics...but the Gasol injury did kill them.

Gotcha, I got confused, which doesn't take much. I agree then, that should be a win.
