Should I handicap the card today or just skip it? These broad races seem kind of terrible.

Why don't you handicap it tomorrow? Take a day off.:)

ESPN again uses confusing camera angles

Oh well I guess I should be watching the webcast instead. That blimp view or whatever is just plain disorientating!!

ventura has run 11 races, one before today was in cali. that doesn't make her cali based, and i believe frankel runs on both coasts.

and i'm sure zenyatta won because she's from cali.

she's got more racing under her belt over seas. would that then make her one of those euros you said to toss?
gimme a break.

The Euro juvy filly turfer gets beat a phucking nosehair at 12-1 because the jock moved too late. Had nothing to do with where she was foaled or stabled.

I,m not patting myself on back I just stated Euros would do poorly and Cal based horses looked strong today, I said it yesterday and I was just trying to give some guy who said he did'nt have a clue some advice. I was right. Sounds like you loss today.

Zenyatta and Stardom Bound could've been stabled on the moon, they both would have won regardless. A Euro missed winning the Juvy Filly Turf by an eyelash to a NY-based horse, and neither Ventura or Forever Together are Cal-based. Grade jub.

had everyone dismissed the euros, they wouldn't have hit the ex, tri, super in that race. would have been rather costly.
far more to wagering then a win bet. far more involved than where a horse is based.
wait a while has been winning in cali, at that distance. fat lot of good that did today.

What racing form are you reading lol

Danzig 10-24-2008 05:47 PM

you're talking about ventura, right? and i mean more overseas compared to her cali starts, which you seem to think makes her cali based. she's also run at keeneland, woodbine, belmont...
she ran four times in '07 in england. juddmonte is international--they also said on the broadcast that visit, regardless of performance today, was also going to frankels barn. they've had success with that, obviously.

I didn't say any Euro would not hit the board , just they as a group would do poorly, sorry you loss.

Gomez doesn't get stuck behind horses entering, he gallops.

they ran in cal before so that's what i mean, however Euros did poorly I think one ran second.

Ok you always right and you know I meant horses coming straight over from Europe who has not run here. Now if you want to nit-pic that's fine you can have the last shot. Grow -up

er...i wasn't arguing your ridiculous euro point, but with your claim that a horse who has run at some point in california is therefore based in california. or was i also supposed to know that you meant horses who had run in california when you said -based?
and if anyone is counting on you for advice, they're in deep trouble.

SlewsMyHero 10-24-2008 06:13 PM

Why they just don't give us the standard split screen live is beyond me. They can use the other cameras for replays, but during the live running we need to have the split screen. It's what we're all used to, and gives the best view of the running race. TVG does the same thing. Drives me crazy when they don't use the track video feed.

I lost today

I'm not betting favorites on BC day

yeah, lost but it's not enough to bother me and I'm not giving vague advice and coming back to crow about it

docicu3 10-24-2008 06:28 PM

Same BC BS year after year.....

They just refuse to do anything to help the player follow the races on TV or at the tracks getting simulcast. The weirdest thing of the day was hearing Todd TVG on the voice via youbet's feed.

The best day of racing is spoiled by the lack of adequate technology which has become the industry the other 364 days a year....yeah I know you can follow the silks but why should you have to work so damn hard to watch a race....

I lose? Actually no, I won today. A LOT.

On an American horse.

the_fat_man 10-24-2008 06:29 PM

While the CALRACING web stream was just what the doctor ordered,

it seems that they're NOT showing the REPLAYS of the BC races on their site.

Beautiful.

Amen to that

yes, next thing they will try is the XFL camera angle where they zoom in so tight you won't have any idea where the horses are anywhere.. shoot. I am afraid I just gave some a brilliant suggestion. I can hear it now... "lets do like they did for that movie Seabiscuit"

I'm not crowing and said nothing about betting favorites, and just anwsered your reply on thread. This is a blog and people are going to give opinions, seems like alot of bloggers just want to condemed make fun of and put words in others posts. actually i did't do so hot myself today.

I just watched the 9th on TVG.

I agree that the camera shots are confusing. I had my horse in the middle of the pack on the far side, then lost him for good when they went to the overhead for a few seconds.

The sunlight on the saddle cloths didn't help in the stretch.

Great thing about this game is there is a whole card of races tomorrow for them to come back and they could.

You calling me an idiot, cause i was right on a simple comment yesterday about Euros? get a #$#@@ life Hoss. You only want to read and hear what you agree with, anybody else is just an idiot.
I read your posts and your opinion means less than zerooooooo to me if you want to know the truth fool.

Any dumb arse can predict the euros will lose. The trick is finding and posting who will beat them.

And lets face it...there is an overabundance of jerk offs like you who are scared to post their picks.

Coach Pants 10-24-2008 06:51 PM

Yeah nice call...

it probably wouldn't have mattered but the ride on Wait A While was maddening for me. And I let out a multitude of profanities when Denman was acting like she was going to win going around the turn wide.

I did make quite a few dollars on her but I have all day tomorrow to lose it back. :)

She is about as tough as they come. She just finds a way to get up and win.
